Ignore this administrative post

I am new to these political blogging circles and I have grown to respect in short time both your blog and your opinions. Hence to ask a favour, would it be too much to know your opinion on a blogger called newmania, for I have entered into a somwhat heated debate with him on croydonians trotsky article, and he seems to have deep prejudice towards anyone who does not share his opinion.. Is it possible that a man such as himself who openly attacks anothers ethinicty and religion unprovoked, can actually be a conservative hopeful for mayor of london? Would much appreciate it if you feel able to offer an opinion. Hope that I am not imposing on your hospitable welcome..

His Grace had suspicions that an administrative post required by Technorati entitled 'please ignore...' would develop a thread of miscellany.

The more His Grace knows, the more he realises he does not know. This is the humility by which he lives. He does not comment on any communicant's opinions of another communicant, but exhorts all towards intelligence and erudition.

We transgressors of Cranmer's will can only prostrate ourselves at Cranmer's feet and seek forgiveness.

Dear Tejus Ramakrishnan,

"I am new to these political blogging circles ... he seems to have deep prejudice towards anyone who does not share his opinion."

I apologize for the bad behavior of Newmania. Since I had similar experiences at the beginning, my insights might be helpful to you. At the beginning, I was surprised to find out that the blogosphere is not inhabited by a random sample of the population. In my view, a disproportionate number of egomaniacs are roaming the blogosphere eager to gain satisfaction by attempts of social dominance (the Alpha Male Instinct). If they were Alpha Males in real life they wouldn't feel the need trying to satisfy their instinct on the internet by insulting others and/or claiming to be the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom [such as myself :-)].

Naturally, there are others who like to exchange ideas, discuss and to learn from others [such as myself :-(]. However, blogging seems to be more an outlet for anger than an exercise in intellectual modesty. Don't take anything personal. If someone is insulting you or claims to know it all, you already know that he/she has an emotional problem. And that it is not your problem. If you observe certain bloggers for a while you can see that their behaviour is fairly constant, no matter who they are dealing with. This behavior has nothing or nearly nothing to do with you. Don't let your feelings be hurt. Just enjoy the exchange of ideas and the debate.

In general, the conservative bloggers are mostly better educated and more civilized than those on the left, especially Cranmer, Croydonian, Instanbultory and others. However, no rules without exception.
