EU: ‘Accept same-sex marriage or face expulsion’

Cranmer is indebted to his communicant Mr Voyager for bringing his attention to this most interesting report from the Catholic World News. The EU’s justice minister, Franco Frattini, who is by all accounts a Freemason, has announced that EU member states ‘which do not eliminate all forms of discrimination against homosexuals, including the refusal to approve “marriage” and unions between same-sex couples, would be subject to sanctions and eventual expulsion from the EU’.

What sanctions, precisely? And by what authority? Cranmer is less than clear of the role played by homosexual marriage in the functioning of the single market.

It is ironic that Frattini, who was elected EU commissioner after the EU parliament rejected the nomination of the Catholic intellectual Rocco Buttiglione, is free to impose his Masonic amorality upon us all, while Buttiglione was rejected because of his Catholic worldview and support of the traditional family.

However, the demand is that the United Kingdom conform, or be expelled from the EU.

O, please, God, please…

So all we need to do is announce a permanent ban on same-sex union for as long as we remain part of the EU, and the burghers will smooth our exit for us? Brilliant! Then the union can be restored as per the wishes of the British people but we can remain outside the EU. Anyone for an e-petition to No.10?

Would it not be appropropriate for the image in the cartoon at the top of this article to be that of Mark Oaten?

I would have thought that Mr Frattini would have been best employed addressing the appalling human rights record of Turkey, a country that he and his colleagues are so anxious to embrace.

Another super demonstration of the jumped up arrogance of the EUreaucracy; to think expulsion is actually a threat!

Wrinkled weasrl raises a valid point. So would individual 'EU citizens' who disapprove of “marriage” and unions between same-sex couples, also be subject to sanctions and eventual expulsion from the EU’?

So is that the REAL reason for "civil partnerships"? So many innovations are made only because the EU demands them but our rulers pretend it was their own bright idea. CF the STUPID new rules for weighing & measuring letters.

Your Grace, I falsely accused you of going to ground and only popping up on other people's blogs, whereas I had neglected to refresh my screen and was stuck on 29 December. You have not been away but I am delighted to see you back.

This is human evolution. There is no denying it. Jesus would be definitely proud of the EU for embracing the oppressed. People don't really take the bible literally anymore do they? Genesis states that the world is flat. That's just the beginning! Stop the hate and discrimination and we Canadians will come and visit your beautiful land!
Praise Jesus! Damn the hardline Catholics for using His name in vain!

Just found a EU barometer survey that revealed that a minority of Europeans support same sex marriage. More at my place where I have done a rather lengthy post.

Prove your assertion with reference to The Torah, Talmud, and Jewish and Christian Bibles.

"We Canadians will come and visit". Which Canadians? That sounds like a threat.
