Treason with the stroke of a pen

Here is the photograph which Cranmer did not think the world would see. Here we see the unelected Scottish Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at Lisbon's Jeronimos monastery signing away 1000 years of English history. And the venue was perhaps appropriate, given Mr Brown's apparent monkish preference for cloistered solitude. By this act the duplicitous son of the manse has humiliated himself and betrayed the British people.
If this ‘treaty’ is ratified by Parliament and given Royal Assent (and Cranmer takes neither for granted), it will be for the Conservative Party to pledge themselves unequivocally to a retrospective referendum.
The prayers of a righteous man availeth much…

That'd be the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man... but I think this moves the English not half enough as it should.
Doesn't the body language say it all.
I am not blessed with your Grace's framework of belief, but that notwithstanding, the demeanour of a man doing something that even he knows is wrong is unmistakable to even we heathens.
If I am wrong, please let even Dante's visions of hell be a gross understatement of the torments that shall face Mr Brown a couple of decades from now.
What a shame and a disgrace! Well, it was nice while it lasted! The England of history will be thought of much more highly than the England that goes forward into the fog of the EU.
They are all in the same boat. Cameron has already said he will not hold a referendum on it now it has been passed. To spend over 2000 years fighting to keep our freedom to govern ourselves and the lives lost to do so. Now it has been given away by the stroke of a pen without the promised referendum.
One can only hope that when the people find out how this petty dictatorship will interfear in their lives they may come to reverse this.
It may well be discussed in Parliament, but it matters not a whit, as the treaty cannot be altered in any way.

I haven't heard the fat lady singing.
A 1000 years of English History includes many instances of conflict including against Parliament, there are ways to bring clarity on those who occupy the House just ask Sinn Fein.
Johnny Norfolk: has Cameron really said he would not hold a referendum, or has he merely been equivocal? My goodness, can't we trust any of these people?
Calling Broon a "son of the manse" is a wee bit tame. Son of a bitch is more appropriate.
Brown has a seat in Parliament. He is no more "unelected" than was Blair. Our politicians are obsessed enough with the American presidential model without our encouraging them.
Still, agree with the post's sentiment.
My grief at Brown's act of treason is fully (and more adequately) expressed on the 'My Current Blog' page at

may I commend this to you?
should, of course, read

Much is made of Brown being a somn of the Manse. Does he still regularly attend the Kirk?
Y'all need guns. By ceding the monopoly on the potential for political violence to the State, you have left yourselves defenseless against traitors in power. The fear of an armed populace cools the would-be tyrant's fervor. Good luck.
