M&S Muslim sales assistant refuses to sell 'unclean' Children's Bible

Cranmer is occasionally informed of a story which communicants mischievously send him in order to test his powers of restraint and the levels of his blood pressure. This is one such.

It concerns a book of Bible stories which was for sale in Marks & Spencer in Reading. When the customer tried to pay for it at the till, the Muslim sales assistant declared it to be ‘unclean’, refused to serve her, and went away to fetch someone else to conduct the sale.

The saga was covered by the Daily Mail, and Cranmer looks forward to the outcome of the investigation. But he looks forward even more to observing the extent to which the Muslim sales assistant is reprimanded, or whether Marks & Spencer will simply cease selling Christian books in what is an increasingly Muslim area.

And one wonders what accusations of ‘racism’ would have arisen if this had been a Christian employee who had refused to sell a copy of the Qur’an, and whether such an employee would have been 'investigated' or summarily dismissed.

Your Grace,

This story reminds me of the incident of the Muslim sales clerks who would refuse to sell goods that they weren't allowed to handle, such as alcohol.

However, the thing about that story was that one could at least understand the reasoning behind it. However, nowhere in the Qur'an is there a part that I know of that says you may not handle to holy book of another religion, and that it is indeed unclean.

Madness. Utter, utter, madness.

If his Grace found that news item troubling, I would strongly suggest that he does not view the following link, which includes such gems as this: "If sharia law is implemented, then you can turn this country into a haven of peace because once a thief's hand is cut off nobody is going to steal," he says. "Once, just only once, if an adulterer is stoned nobody is going to commit this crime at all."

Your Grace

I am not entirely surprised by this - given the inroads that the Muslim community has made in recent years. Ironic though, that the shop has such a lengthy history of support for Israel.

How can a book about Jesus - one of the prophets of Islam - be an unclean book? Did it have any Old Testament stories in it? The Old Testament is one of the holy books of Islam.

Ignorance and intolerance, two words that pretty much sum up Islam I think.

This sort of thing has been going on for ages. It's not even surprising any more. British schools and universities are complicit in censorship. This means that certain subjects or facts (mainly to do with Judaism and/or Israel) are now verboten in certain areas.

Your Grace might want to read the mail I sent to M&S and the reply received :-

Comments: Sir/Madam,
What position is you company taking against the muslim girl who told a
customer that a book of Bible stories was unclean. Had this been the
other way round sacking would take place.
As I loyal customer I would like to know what action has been taken.

Reply from M&S

Thank you for contacting us regarding the recent article in the Daily
Express newspaper.

At M&S, we pride ourselves on being both an equal opportunities employer
and a company which offers excellent service to all of our customers.
Needless to say, it's a matter of great concern to us if we ever fall
short of being either.

We have apologised to the customer mentioned in this article and we are
sorry if this matter has caused you any offence. Whilst we are unable
to comment further, please be assured that we are carrying out a
thorough investigation and are treating this matter seriously.

Thank you again for sharing your views with us, and we do hope you will

My further response :-

Thanks for your reply. Every job has aspects which may not sit with our
personal values and beliefs (Sunday working, etc). However if you choose to
sign a contract of employment with a company you must fulfill all the duties
entailed.
I would be obliged if you could update me on the conclusion of your
investigation.

End quotes.

Depending on a further answer to my mail will depend my continued customer status. I tend to vote with ny feet in these situations.

Do you oppose censorship as a general principle? Of course not: as ever, your only interest is "What's good for Jews". There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but you should be honest about it. If you're worried about censorship in academia, racial difference has been a verboten topic for far longer than religion. Muslims are merely trying to expand the remit of the race hate laws, as introduced by the Board of Deputies and supported, I assume, by Dr L.

Perhaps this sales assistant had been advised to avoid the Bible by Islamic teachers who are afraid of the impact of actual knowledge on their hold over her.

There are stories of Muslim's converting once they actually get to read the Bible in the UK, and discover what Christianity is actually about - compared to what they have been told.

I fail to understand why the Board of Deputies is constantly being mentioned irrelevantly on this blog.

My point is that the censorship now seems to have spread to other religions. As some extreme Muslims say:

'First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people'.

I had not noticed a 'constant mention' - pray tells us where this is.

'Irrelevance' may be a matter of opinion - indeed it usually is.

You need to note this comment in the Mail story:

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, described the assistant's comments as "offensive" and called for Marks & Spencer to conduct an investigation.

He said: "This appears to be a very regrettable incident and the 'unclean' remark was clearly very offensive and unacceptable.

"Many Biblical stories complement the teachings of the Koran. We hope that M&S will investigate this incident."

What this may highlight is the level of ignorance amongst young Muslims who do not realise that they follow an Abrahamic religion which reveres Jesus even if it does not accept his divinity.

There's a close link with your previous item because it highlights the need for schools to teach religion well - rather than badly or not at all. Both nominal Christians and Muslims need to know a great deal more about their own faith.

Dr Lancaster, the flip side of censorship is THE BIG LIE!

THE BIG LIE of our times is to deny that Islam is an intrinsically violent, aggressive and murderous ideology.

Our lords and masters repeat their PC denial of this blindingly obvious fact in various forms ('Religion of Peace', or 'tiny minority of extremists'etc), in the belief that like some sort of magical spell, it will become true if recited often enough.

Supporting strands of this web of deceit include claims that Islamic aggression is a recent reaction to the sins of the West (colonialism ), or is caused by poverty (buy them off with more jizya), or is carried out by a tiny minority who misunderstand the peaceful commandments of the Koran, or, in a whopper that would be worthy of Goebbels himself - that Islamic terrorism is actually anti-Islamic, as preached by the hypocrite Jacqui Smith.

Another strand of deceit is the never-ending search for the Holy Grail - the Mythical Moderate Islam which is claimed to be the real authentic version of the Cult of Mohammed. Of course any 'moderate' version of Islam would have to repudiate the violent verses in the Koran, and so commit blasphemy by rejecting the Word of God.

But, as public awareness of Islam grows, these repeated denials and myths parrotted by politicians begin to look increasingly absurd.

Many of us now understand the implacably aggresive nature of Islam and its polarised worldview - the tribal antagonism between Ummah and Kuffar, the territorial antagonism between Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb, the overwhelming need to kill or humiliate non-Muslims, the death penalty for those who attempt to leave Islam and the obligation to totally exterminate the Jewish people.

But what else can the politicians say other than repeat the RoP mantra? The alternative would be to admit that on their watch they have allowed, and are continuing to allow, the invasion of millions of Dark-Age savages committed to a vicious totalitarian ideology which demands our death or subjugation.

So as regards telling the truth about Islam, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't! They have a choice of either staying in denial, and thus appearing to an increasingly Islamic-aware electorate to be gullible idiots and bare-faced liars, or else they must admit that they have been so incompetant as to allow a social disaster to take place that can have no outcome other than civil war.

Yes, we've got the traitors skewered! Damned if they do, and damned if they don't! We can discredit the dhimmi politicans by pointing out, whenever they spout their RoP bullshit, how the commands to murder, mutlilate and rape non-Muslims are an essential part of the cult, because the superstitious savages believe the Koran to be the word of God himself, and the rapist, murderer, bandit and pedophile Mohammed to be the 'Perfect Man', whose example is to be followed in all things, including gang-rape.

If we hack at the these main strands of deceit, then whole PC web of lies will eventually unravel and the dhimmi politicians will be utterly discredited. Then maybe we can get an effective government.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

Abrahamic religion only in the flesh but not in the spirit.

Clearly Anon is following the words of Pope JP11 as did our last great leader Brother Tony Blair

I , also , made my displeasure clear to the manager of my local M&S store but told him that I would never again purchase from them . Further I would encourage anyone I came in contact with not to .
Possibly M&S should delegate its personnel functions to Mossad .

one of my favourite comments from an older congregation member , was that we are all children of abrahm .
also if you belive in god , you have to belive that god will sort it out.
the problems is that of humilation (which leads to strife) can happen on such a scale , that it leads to a national backlash.
this story of the bible stories book , summs it up nicely , i cant/wont do that because it offends me , the sub text being that your countries values are in error , and all will be well when you submitt to allah.
terrorism is anti islamic ??
i see some of islams great scholars admiting that bi laden has done more harm than good for them , some even appologised for the attacks , but it wasnt a majority.

they could have private islam , but know we have to be ifedels they augment there jihad , mosques continue to use arabic and they support a strong islam , with only one end in mind , to change our nation to islams way.

labour have done nothing to stop this , indeed they seem to think it will lead to a socialist future , they inflame by not standing up for it . they think religion is pointless .

the muslim council of britain has had its moderates beaten out its structure. what a mess an utter mess and betrayal

You would think it would also be problematic working for a company that has a as part of its name “Mark”, which is clearly an insidious plot to “Christianize” everything….

It must also be troubling to walk down the street with the mass of “unclean” pagans…

If this had been a white, Christian employee they would have been dismissed and received a nasty visit from the local police investigating it as a 'hate' crime and a 'racist incident'.

The assistant in question should certainly be dismissed and it should be made clear to all M&S employees that such bigoted behaviour is unacceptable.

The only reason that the indigenous English population has to endure such insults from medieval tribalists is that our "leaders " are AFRAID,we see the same thing in all european countries, particularly at present in holland, where wilders is holding these cowards up to the light, and the only difference i can see is that the dutch politicians admit thier fear.

The Board of Deputies is highly relevant to a discussion of censorship and Islam, because it promoted the race hate laws that prepared the way for the religious hate laws, which it also promotes.

My point is that the censorship now seems to have spread to other religions. As some extreme Muslims say:

'First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people'.

And my point is that you have no objection to censorship in principle and will happily support it elsewhere. Your sole concern is "What's good for Jews?" Fine, but please be honest about it and please admit that what's good for Jews is not automatically what's good for other groups, Christians in particular.
