Palestinians celebrate Mercaz Harav seminary slaughter

They were children – some as young as 14 – undertaking Talmudic study and hoping to serve as rabbis and rabbinical judges throughout Israel. They were preparing a celebration for the new month, which includes the holiday of Purim. Instead, they had a massacre as students scrambled to flee the attack, jumping out of windows. Holy books drenched in blood littered the floor. And as their friends and parents mourned and wept for their murdered children, there was rejoicing among the Palestinians as they fired their guns and celebrated by handing out sweets. At mosques in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, many residents performed prayers of thanksgiving — only performed in cases of great victory to thank Allah. And Hamas have welcomed the shooting, saying ‘We bless the operation. It will not be the last.’

It is telling indeed that whenever Palestinian children are killed through IDF or IAD operations, one does not see dancing in the streets of Tel Aviv, or hear of commendations from the Israeli government or any political party, or hear of Jews giving thanks to YHWH in their synagogues. Such is the primitive barbarism of the Palestinian response - no condemnation, no expression of regret, no sorrow; simply the inference that the murdered somehow deserved it. It was an act of terror and depravity.

And the BBC's Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen explains why: the Mercaz Harav yeshiva ‘was no ordinary seminary. It was the ideological cradle of the settler movement in the West Bank, which could be the reason it was targeted. Many of its students are on special courses that combine religious study with service in combat units in the Israeli army.’

Those who gathered at the seminary ahead of the victims' funerals were people who were already opposed to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's decision to engage in talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The school has played a major role in ideology and theology of Israeli religious settlement movement, and key figures linked to the school were strongly opposed to Israeli pull-out from Gaza.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev demanded that the Palestinian government take steps against the extremists, not merely denounce their attacks. He said: ‘Tonight's massacre in Jerusalem is a defining moment. It is clear that those people celebrating this bloodshed have shown themselves to be not only the enemies of Israel but of all of humanity.’

Yet still it is Israel who is condemned by the media; it is Israel who is condemned for building the security wall that has prevented many such acts of barbarism; and it is Israel who is condemned for her attacks on such locations where these acts are planned and perpetrated.

May the Lord restore justice.

Let war mean war and end this phoney war on terror that allows innocent civilians to be the targets.

Life must have been better than this under British rule for both factions in this mess.

"May the Lord restore justice."

The only justice on the horizon for Hamas, in the immediate and near future, will be measured solely by the calibre of ordanance in the Israeli arsenal.

May their aim be true and steady.

your grace
the lords way of restoring justice is not for the fakers who rely on the bullit and the bomb vest.

look at Hamas they are now so far away from god , they have even lost the feelings that allow them to take the first steps to welcome the power of peace.

those students who were clutching there sacred texts through which the bullits ripped through on there way to human targets.

of course it is tit for tat , islamic jihad looses a terrorist leader , so they divise a strike at the college of students from which israeli leaders have come from.

the christ would have been in the hospitals tending and mending the wounded without wanting to know there name pointing out that that the ques of the frail civilians with ordinary ailments were suffering as the beds and doctors were being taken up with the injuries of anger , rather than making the provisons of peace.

any victory Hamas achieve with the gun will not open the door to peace , nor will not honouring the negoiation table.

His Grace aligns himself with the settler movement. This is not just about being a friend of Israel. This is about being in on the whole stinking colonialist deal.

May God forgive him.

And all in the name of your vengeful Gods,I think it's a perfect tribute really - sick, but perfect.

You do of course realise, this will never ever end. If not Israel/Palestine it'll be somewhere else - until you all recognise that this fantasy you are living in is just that.

There is no God, no salvation, no judgement; just here and now and people - it's about time we started behaving as if that mattered.

Your Grace should be ashamed aligning himself with any side - they are both as bad as each other.

The Mercaz HaRav yeshiva was founded almost 100 years ago by the first chief rabbi of the Mandate, Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak HaCohen Kook. He was a Torah leader and the founder of religious Zionism. His yeshiva started the 'knitted-kippah' movement, yeshiva study and army service, and its students are intense lovers of the Land of Israel.

Whether or not one supports the right of Jews to live in any part of the Land of Israel, the murder of innocent teenagers studying Talmud is a crime against humanity. The Arab barbarians who celebrated in Gaza deserve the same punishment as the murderers. They are pure evil and one does not negotiate with evil-- one eradicates it. Remember what Amalek did to you!

'Cranmer' - Palestinian children killed through IDF operations.

In the context 'killed' is a weasel word (you forgot the other weasel word 'regrettable')
Why not call it what it is - cold blooded murder. Or all those headshots a statistical - and ballistic - freak.

Oh - and Israelis don't gloat at massacres of Palestinians? Ever heard of the followers of Baruch Goldstein?

You should you know.

Ezekiel 37:12-14

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
