Countdown to Obamageddon

Can the world survive President Barack Obama? Or will his election lead inexorably to the end-times battle long prophesied and eagerly awaited by some of the ‘Religious right’? Alas, with prominent Republicans there and Conservatives here all hailing the advent of a new political saviour, it is not unsurprising that those whose politics and faith are rather more grounded in traditional orthodoxy are sensing a certain disquiet.

It is axiomatic that democracies tend to get the leaders they deserve. There is a sense in which divine judgement can be expressed through the ballot box, for the accountability of the most high and mighty to the votes of the most humble and lowly is the most effective political corrective ever devised. It is not perfect, but it is, as Winston Churchill once observed, the least worst method of government.

Unlike some, Cranmer does not believe that God will somehow punish the United States for electing Barack Obama as its leader. But his election is judgement in itself. He is a man absorbed by his own sense of destiny, perceiving himself as an instrument of God’s will, and that will shall be manifest through the political theology with which the Senator is imbued. He has not revealed the object of spiritual warfare - except that Senator McCain is quite close to Satan in the hierarchy of evil – but his strategy is to take dominion over governmental and legal institutions. And God will then be pleased with him, and will one day say: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

This is the nexus of Senator Obama’s delusion. While social chaos ensues, the economy heads for meltdown, crime rates soar, the family is undermined, abortions continue, prayer is sidelined, and schools and universities are increasingly secularised, the ‘instrument of God’s will’ shall be revealed as the servant of a deity other than the one revealed in the Bible.

And while the United States of America is occupied by its internal woes and absorbed by its own social breakdown, do not ignore for one minute the distinct possibility that the enemies of America will perceive a moment of weakness; a possibility for humbling the ‘Great Satan’ and inflicting a wound which might just cause a New World Order to emerge which will be nothing like that envisaged by the Founding Fathers.

Cranmer does not believe Senator Obama to be the Antichrist, but there is sense in which his coming is a sign of the times. He is nothing more than Hollywood ectoplasm in a media circus. John McCain is a man of substance in a world in which flesh really bleeds. Obama is fairy gossamer; McCain is mind and authenticity.

And when the blind awake from their messianic foray into the comforting world of distorting mirrors, they will realise that Obama is a fiction, a figment of their imagination. But it will be too late to avert disaster, for Obamageddon shall be upon us, and the outcome inescapable.

Obama, who has done, is doing, and will do, everything within his power to encourage infanticide, may not be "The Antichrist," but surely he is an antichrist. No sincere Christian could ever take such a cavalier approach to innocent and defenseless human life.

Based on the way in which Obama has run his campaign, he must look to be the better prospect for President. It's been a 'tight ship', unwavering and unflustered; no matter what got thrown his way. That's a pretty good advertisement for his Presidential capabilities.

Now compare that to McCain, especially in his choice of running-mate. An almost random choice based on one previous meeting. Imagine what the consequences of that kind of arbitrary decision-making might be were he to gain power.

You may feel that the future under Obama is worrying, but for many the alternative looks an awful lot worse.

I am trying to find some scintilla of consolation in what seems like the election of Obama and the triumph of the liberal elite, slaughter of the innocents and so on.

If he is elected, his election can be seen as a vindication of the strength of American democracy in electing a Black President. As Anonymous 2 says, he is not without talent (albeit in my view blinded by liberal platitudes and in thrall to the feminist agenda).

John McCain slapped down one of his own supporters, telling her that Obama was a decent family man. McCain also advised Obama to go on his European tour to gain some understanding of other countries.

In addition, if he is elected the wicked witch of the west aka Hillary Clinton can kiss goodbye to any presidential aspirations for the future.

For many years christians have been
expecting the rise of the beast or
antichrist & many have been put
forward as candidates, in a similar way the date of the end of the world has been speculated upon
& prophesied by many without being
accurate. However my own personal
opinion is that although there have been times that matched many
of the prophecies of scripture, there were still several missing.
Time has filled in many of the blanks rather like a crossword
puzzle, I would not like to speculate upon the qualifications of Mr Obama as candidate for the Beast, but feel that the wise & prudent will observe carefully
his presidency (should it come to pass) as it should be remembered that most of the Jewish race missed the messiah when He came, & what God ordains always comes to pass in due course.

Clearly, His Grace has been around since well before the Republic's birth, so is well placed to answer my question. So, could he explain who the most recent US president was who didn't regard himself as an instrument of God. To my comparitively young eye, the current incumbent seems to have felt the need to go into bad for the good Lord on more than one occasion.

Anyone dumb enough to vote for him solely on his "change" mantra will find that the change he will bring about won't be for the better.

Why would any Christian believe anything Obama says after he disavowed his minister of 20 years. The church Obama attended Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

I guess Obama doesn't know about this either especially items 4, 9 and 10.

Read up on Obama's friends (scroll to the bottom)

Undercover agent Larry Grathwohl, who had infiltrated and joined the Weather Underground, described their post-revolution governing plans for the United States in this video taken from the 1982 documentary "No Place to Hide." The Weather Underground openly discussed exterminating 25 million Americans who refused to be "re-educated" into communism.

Here's a transcript of his interview:

I bought up the subject of what's going to happen after we take over the government. We, we become responsible, then, for administrating, you know, 250 million people.

And there was no answers. No one had given any thought to economics; how are you going to clothe and feed these people.

The only thing that I could get, was that they expected that the Cubans and the North Vietnamese and Chinese and the Russians would all want to occupy different portions of the United States.

They also believed that their immediate responsibility would be to protect against what they called the counter-revolution. And they felt that this counter-revolution could best be guarded against by creating and establishing re-education centers in the southwest, where we would take all the people who needed to be re-educated into the new way of thinking and teach them... how things were going to be.

I asked, well, what's going to happen to those people that we can't re-educate; that are die-hard capitalists. And the reply was that they'd have to be eliminated. And when I pursued this further, they estimated that they would have to eliminate 25 million people in these re-education centers. And when I say eliminate, I mean kill. 25 million people.

I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees from Columbia and other well known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people.

And they were dead serious."

Doesn't the current US President regard himself as a devout Christian - and things haven't actually gone terribly well on his watch, have they?

I'm afraid I find this particular posting of yours a little incoherent, or does it really come down to the fact that Mr Obama professes to be a Christian, but does not agree with your views on abortion?

IMO Obama has all the potential to be both an Anti-Christ and The Anti-Christ at the same time.

Personally I believe Obama's destiny was to be America's perceived Anti-Christ beyond any shadow of any doubt. You simply have to look into his blood lines. Which are far to close to George Walker Bush, than should be comfortable for anyone.

Now exactly what this well bred and suntanned Anti-Christ is going to 'achieve' during his presidency is the question?

Like for example, will the eventual death count be measured in tens of millions, hundreds of millions, or indeed billions?

You mention hysteria. If I were you I would be feeling hysterical were I an American.

The USA is going to plunge into untold depths of depravity soon. Much of this will not be of Obama's doing but he will not be without blame.

Let me explain. The US is consuming much above it's ability, this is why it has been reflecting a trade deficit and a current account deficit. And who is willing to finance and pay for this deficit is basically in large part Asia.
The Dollar is collapsing, and indeed will eventually collapse as foreigners lose confidence in the long term security of US assets they are holding. The portfolio adjustments in response to the collapse will be swift and severe.
Let me explain. Asia has been held under like a beach ball under water: take away the restraining pressure and the balls thrusts it's self up dramatically.

Anecdotal: Six Asians and one American on an Island, all have jobs to do. The Asian's jobs are fishing, gathering, hunting, preparing, cooking etc.
The American's job is eating. At the end of each day a feast is prepared and the American eats all but a few crumbs which he saves for the Asians so they can continue with their work.
Everyone on the Island sees the American as vital to the Island economy - creating jobs etc.
The reality is that for every Asian on the Island, their lot in life would be dramatically improved if they kicked the American off the Island.
America consumes 50% of the worlds gasoline, which means the rest of the world has to get by on the 50% they do not consume. The rest of the world sacrifices while America indulges. When they lose their purchasing power to the rest of the world there is going to be major realignment. Realignment which will have dire consequences for us also. Look who is on the bridge of our Enterprise: Dear God!

His Grace is very fortunate to see things in such clear cut terms. Whilst I agree that the Irish guy, O'Bama, is nothing but a simulacrum, ectoplasm, play doh for the masses, etc, he is a figurehead. The US is run by men in the shadows. The CIA runs foreign policy. You step out of hand you get the Valerie Plame treatment. That's if you are lucky enough to be white. You talk too much - or not enough, you get get your own private jet somewhere quiet where the watersports are free and the this year's colour is always orange.

I think what His Grace might be seeing, but unable to quite grasp, is that we now live in the era of justified falsehood.

It takes a particular kind of arrogance to adopt lying as a default position in order to govern, but that is what Labour has done since 1997 and you know what? It works!

I would rail against stupidity and willful ignorance in the general poplulation. After all, we voted the buggers in.

mckenzie, we don't use up 50% of the world's gasoline, and we don't have the power to limit other countries to 50% of the gasoline. Oil is a commodity -- people BID on it if they want to buy it.

No doubt bad economic times are ahead for many in the USA and elsewhere. But if people in the USA cut their purchasing to the bone to survive, times will surely be very hard in China. The Chinese will find it very tough to kick us off "the island" because we still have our own country. This could change as of tomorrow, however, as our new president may share so much of our wealth that we won't have anything left for ourselves.
