Speaker Martin: ‘I didn’t come into politics not to take what’s owed to me’

Michael Martin said yesterday during a debate on parliamentary expenses that he ‘might be in a bit of a mad mood’.

Indeed, he may. But to take it out on Kate Hoey and Norman Baker establishes beyond doubt that he is simply no longer up to the job (if ever he were), and that it is time for him to go. He has learnt absolutely nothing from his recent grievous errors of judgement, and has no appreciation of the justified anger felt by the people of the United Kingdom towards the House of Commons, the rights and privileges of which he is supposed to be guardian. Speaker Martin manifests no humility, no contrition, and has no understanding of leadership. He perpetuates his own cause, defends his vested interests, and is devoid of dignity.

And Cranmer is incredulous to read that the Speaker allegedly said to a senior MP: ‘I didn’t come into politics not to take what’s owed to me’.

What’s owed to him?

His Grace has been curling his lip at 88p bathplugs and £20 pornography films; gnawing his gums at £4000 gardening bills, plasma televisions and sauna installations; tapping his feet at the flip-flopping of property portfolios in order to secure the optimum financial claim possible. But the assertion that Speaker Martin will take ‘what’s owed’ to him beggars belief. If he were a true parliamentarian he would be concerned with what he owes the people. Some of the excuses which ‘honourable’ members have given for fleecing the taxpayer of millions of pounds of ‘expenses’ – which manifestly have not been ‘wholly and necessarily incurred’ in the performance of their duties – have been irritating and insensitive. But the sheer self-righteous arrogance of ‘what’s owed’ to him when he earns a quite remarkable £141,866 per annum reduces Michael Martin to a level of existence somewhere between the swine flu virus and faecal bacteria.

And while the uncouth hypocrite has been urging MPs to consider ‘the spirit of what is right’ when submitting their expense claims, it transpires that he has himself claimed £1400 of chauffeur-driven journeys to his constituency.

But that what’s owed to him.

He luxuriates in his grace-and-favour mini palace.

But that what’s owed to him.

He has a gold-plated pension.

But that what’s owed to him.

He takes a chauffeur-driven car to Celtic football ground.

But that what’s owed to him.

He has claimed more than £50,000 in air travel costs.

But that what’s owed to him.

And Mrs Martin has also run up a £4000 taxi bill doing the household shopping.

That must be what’s owed to her as well.

All ‘in the spirit of what is right’, you understand.

One MP said that they handed him a revolver and a bottle of whiskey, but Speaker Martin threw away the gun and drank the whiskey. While Cranmer has never advocated suicide, he certainly believes there to be a case for falling on one’s sword in order to preserve one’s honour. As Michael Martin sullies his great Office of State, he brings the whole House into disrepute. He is nothing but a shop steward, completely out of his depth and quite without honour. Speaker Martin will go down in history as possibly the most contemptible speaker ever, having betrayed Parliament, abused trust, and presided over the most corrupt, self-serving and partisan episode in the history of the office.

Since he will not resign, he must be removed. It would be a blessing to the people, a relief for democracy and humane for Michael Martin to put him out of his misery.

Cranmer therefore fully supports the proposed motion to remove Speaker Martin, drafted by Douglas Carswell MP. He calls for him ‘to be replaced by a new Speaker with a mandate to clean up the Commons.

At last, a Josiah initiates a wholly necessary reformation.

Your Grace,

Much as we'd all like to get rid of Speaker Martin, we may need to display patience till the General Election.

Could the Speaker and the Prime Minister possibly be inextricably linked? Both of them are clinging on desperately till 2010; they see the writing on the wall and know that their days are numbered as far as their high Offices are concerned.

Your Grace,

Our nation is wounded.

It is our wrong-doing that has separated us from God; that is what has concealed His face from us so that He will not hear our pleadings nor the sound of our weeping.

How long will our country’s leaders mislead the people? Do they not know we hear their perversities? Their paths are crooked and they walk in shadow.

Who now calls for justice? Who stands up for the truth? Where is the valiant defender? Where are the watchmen on Democracy’s wall?

Mr Speaker trusts in his ‘intellectual vanity’; he defends that which is indefensible; he conceives mischief and supports iniquity – and in Parliament Square truth has stumbled – which man dare assist her? None! For all are afraid that they may become the next target of evil. Fear stalks our land.

The nation roars like a mother bear deprived of her cubs as men’s wrong-doing multiplies and those who care for a once great nation mourn like doves.

Look! Look at the state of the British lion: a mangy, malnourished, flea infested feral cat made insensible by violent bow after violent blow – whose brown liquid eyes plead for mercy – but none is shown.

For all that, this much I know: the Lion of Judah, our High Advocate, pleads upon our behalf. He is coming. And neighbour shall speak truth to neighbour.

'Owed' might be uneducated Glaswegian patois for 'entitled' as in "I didn't get where I am today without seeing that I and my members (union types) got that to which we were entitled."

Seems fair to me.

Recall also that this dis-grace of a speaker wants to have his son succeed him in his seat.

I shall certainly spoil my vote at the up coming Euro elections. I havent decided whether to draw a pig on the ballot paper or write something such as 'no gravy train in my name'

All these MPs that have been exposed should resign their seats forthwith and stand at a bye-election. Then we we see whether the other parties stand aside (i.e. collusion to let the rascals get back) or whether a someone with integrity stands against them.

Is there any precedent in the UK for removing a Speaker under such circumstances?

In any event, Brown will work hard to keep him in place.

Your Grace,

The following publication has been placed upon my desk The Liberal Republic by Reeves and Collins (Demos). It has apparently been praised by a range of politicians from different positions. Its assumption seems to be that socialism is dead and therefore needs to be replaced by a new ideology of ‘the Left’.

The document tries to pass itself off as something that is different to socialism. It fails. I write this to warn so that none may be poisoned by its godless anti-democratic principles.

Here is an extract where it points to more of the same socialism that has led to our present grievances:

‘It is precisely because liberals insist that each individual is the author of his own life that they end up as the fiercest defenders of equal liberty for all. Advocates of equal rights sometimes adopt a narrow view, legalistic platform that is too easy to caricature as motivated by so-called ‘political correctness’. Rights are nothing more – and nothing less – than a means for ensuring that every individual, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality or age has the same chance to pursue a particular course in life. The principle of equality has to be enshrined in the education system, as well as in the criminal, civil, employment and electoral law. The argument from equality ultimately stems from one for liberty. This is why republican liberals make the best egalitarians.’

There are many things that could be said about that passage – and I am sure that your communicants will be able to think through the issues at stake.

I shall merely make a few comments.

The argument that equality stems from the argument for liberty is non-sense: a rights based regime produces a hierarchy of groups (that is why Christians are being persecuted in this country).

It is not that republican liberals make the best egalitarians – it is that republican liberals (when in power) decide – according to their group’s tastes - what will be permitted in the zones of liberty, security and freedom and what and who will be excluded.

Republican liberals undermine democracy by believing that democracy should be based on equality. Judaeo-Christians believe that because all men have a propensity to wrong-doing – those who do wrong can be excluded by democratic mechanisms.

In other words democracy is a check against abuse of power for the Judaeo-Christian; whilst democracy for the republican liberal, is merely the means to acquire and exercise power.

You could also add:

"He will be automatically elevated to the House of Lords when his days as an MP are over."

Legislative influence to the end of his days is also owed to him.

Like any good Trade Unionist, he is not interested in the public: he only represents his members. And, like any good Trade Union chief, he's unsackable. He'll be there until he retires.

Taking all this together, it's not so surprising that his sense of entitlement is so well-developed.

....reduces Michael Martin to a level of existence somewhere between the swine flu virus and faecal bacteria.

Cranmer, finally your are starting to talk my type of language. Which is the only appropriate language to describe this sort of vile corruption.

IMO This clearly all encompassing criminal conspiracy, is a deep form of establishment sanctioned, systematically institutionalized corruption.

It is now clear, that our parliament does not work the people, it works for the establishment.

The establishment are the secretive driving force behind The EU. As such it has successfully bribed the turkeys within both sides, and houses of parliament, to assist in bringing about an early Christmas.

Government has long since been corrupted, the difference now, is that it is being publicly shown to be so.

WHY?
and more importantly, WHY NOW?

Answer

Parliamentary democracy is being shown to be corrupted, because it is about to be more obviously or indeed actually replaced, by a Pan-European Parliamentary dictatorship.

We are being conditioned to accept this on the basis, that however murderously nasty this new form of government, will without doubt turn out to be, 'it can't possibly be worse then what we currently have.'

It could very well be a whole lot worse then our minds will allow our imaginations to imagine. But then, that is whole point of incredibly big conspiracies being kept secrete from the great mass of the profane.

PS

Now I hope we can all see what type of early warning sign, the whole Hamilton affair thing was.

The whole point was to show present and future MP's, the utter power of the establishment. A power combining with mafia type businessmen, a national-newspaper, and The BBC, to basically show/remind that 'certain powers' could, and would, destroy a particular public servants corrupted life at will.

All of our political representatives have not only lined their own despotic pockets. What is infinitely worse, is that they have all been compromised, and therefore have made themselves totally and completely open to establishment/corporate mendacity.

Because as we all should by now know. The unrivaled power of The BBC may be on the wane. However it still fundamentally controls the minds/thinking of an entire nation, and much of the rest of the world.

Can you all just imagine what could happen these days, if a modern day Christ/Anti-Christ, did just happen to turn up tomorrow, with a thing as powerful as The BBC behind it????????????????????

I agree with Mr Belmont at 8:31 this morning: we may need to wait for the removal of Speaker Martin (aka Gorbals Mick).

I might even go further and suggest that it would be a good idea to wait until then. For once selected as Speaker, it seems to be tradition to give the Speaker free run until he retires. As we currently have an unhealthy NuLabour majority in the House, that bunch will have excessive influence over the choice of Speaker for the next 10 or 15 years.

Far better, it seems to me, that we should put up with Gorbals Mick until after the next election, when we have the chance of a House with some more honest Members; Members who might have the good of our Nation at heart. Even if I am wrong, and we get an equivalent load of self serving slime, they can do no worse than Gorbals Mick.

I would also go further than Anonymous at 20:53. I venture to suggest that like many of the current crises, this one has been engineered, or will turn out to be a "beneficial crisis". How else is Brussels to close down the Westminster Parliament after the full implementation of the Lisbon Constitutional Treaty, when national governments become redundant. Too obvious a move would cause the English, even now, to rebel. Much better to rot it from the inside, the way the EU gets most of its big gains. Is that not what has happened here?

Squealer Martin was also reported as saying that he regarded himself as the shop steward, or convenor of MPs – and from that revealing remark one can understand the whole of his disastrous tenure in this ancient office. Was it through stubborn refusal or just plain intellectual vacuity that he refuses to honour the position of Speaker? As to the abuse of his financial position and vastly expensive efforts to conceal the fraud……what else do we expect from the party of blind trusts, Geoffrey Robinson, Ecclestone, Lord Irving, and a hundred other abusers of public office ending up with the likes of Jacqui Smith as Home Secretary?

Dear Yokel

I did say

It could very well be a whole lot worse then our minds will allow our imaginations to imagine.

I don't know how much further then that one can possibly go.

After all, did not millions of people die in the name of stopping this from happening, only a living memory ago?

It is here, it is now, and yet the majority of people sit watching blind ignorance producing TV.

Whats worse they are doing so in the genuine expectation that what spouts forth from of the perfectly Orwellian type device will be the truth or anything like the truth.

You are of course absolutely right. COMMUNISM is the Anti-Christ, or more accurately the creation of The Anti-Christ. Whats just as bad is, it is so whether you or me believe it is or not.

The really big capitalists and religious leaders are the COMMUNISTS. They believe they represent the coming of the ANTI-CHRIST, even if hardly anyone else does.

If you can go further then that, then bloody good luck to you, my friend.

Because when you finally work out for yourself that virtually everything that you have ever been told has been a lie or based on a lie.

Then all trust is GONE forever, and all bets are well and truly OFF.

Atlas, I'm not a betting person; nor do I place my trust in Chance or Commies. Furthermore, I have great faith in the tradition that informed my own development, and in the good people - now gone -who imparted that tradition to me.

My hopes and prayers must, as you suggest, turn towards those who know only the effects of all the deconstruction, 'meconnaissance,' mis-information, and manipulation. Many of them still have access to those who hold to the cord of the tradition and its truths ... which means we still have a job to do. His Grace and his communicants are testament to that.

It is a cord of three strands: history, theology, and literature. And the devils haven't yet burnt all the boooks because - being what they are - they haven't got what it takes to discover and analyze what the three strands convey, or to discern the synthesis to which they lead!!!

Furthermore, if indeed we approach the Final Times - then once we have done our best to repair, reform, and rebuild, all we can do is bear witness:

"Nearer and nearer," we used to sing, "draws the time:
The time that shall surely be,
When the Earth shall be Filled
With the Glory of God,
As the Waters cover the Sea."

As ever....

I can see, I am at least sometimes preaching to the converted.

Good on you, however I also note you clearly have more faith then myself in the future of common humanity.

The power of long term propaganda and vile disinformation especially of the young, can not be underestimated.

My children if they grow up at all, will come to see a much different world them ourselves. Handcarts and by-cycles will be the ORDER or the day. With the entire populations entire movements, conversations and monitory transactions monitored and recorded. Freedom will be a word only grandfather used when he could not find his false teeth. At which point he will most likely be carted off to the 'recycling' plant, namely the local corporate state hospital.

Still expect the worst, and hope for the best. Countless other generations have had stiffer tests them us to bare, and come though it all one way or another. So it is preferable not to get too gloomy.

Be comforted by one thing if nothing else. If their is another spiritual or otherwise existence to come. It could not possibly be worse then this one, or run by a more slimy bunch of pathological liars.

Lets face the facts. Our history is not just bad or very bad. It is one long list of ruling elite created murder, mayhem, needless sacrifice, criminal greed, despotic wars, genocides, deliberate mass starvation, state sponsored torture, lies, conspiracies, and general nastiness of all the most incredibly cruel varieties, the human imagination can think of.

What therefore ever made us start to believe common existence could ever really change much fundamentally, just because the year clearly has?
