Eid Mubarak!

As Muslims in the United Kingdom and around the world (and Mayor Boris) complete the month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, Cranmer would like to extend his personal greetings on this joyous occasion. Eid is a time to celebrate the completion of 30 days and nights of devotion. But even on this festive occasion, Muslims remember those less fortunate, including those impacted by poverty, hunger, conflict, and disease. Throughout the month, Muslim communities collect and distribute zakat-ul-fitr so that all Muslims are able to participate in this day of celebration.

May your day be filled with joy and your future with peace.

Eid Mubarak!

Will they also remember all the thousands of innocent people they they have murdered,over the last fourteen centuries,the beheading,raping,paedophilia?Do not try to justify this barbarism with religious dignity for it has none,it is the politics of brutality,repression and fear,incompatible with a civilised nation.

They? Is every Muslim a brutal, murdering paedophile then?

While I have no time for Islam as a religion I'm going to call BS on Englishman's statement. It's the grossest of generalisations.

Amen, Your Grace.

I jogged past the cemetary today and it was packed full of Muslims paying respect to their dead. How can i but admire them for their piety?

May our shared future be filled with joy and peace.

Whilst not being in agreement with Islam I think your attitude towards Islam is not helpful and will produce nothing but further aggression.
The history of the 'Christian' church is hardly something to put up as an example or to compare with other religions!

The only solutions to the ills of this world is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ the power and the wisdom of God.

@ Gnostic (09:47)—Is every Muslim a brutal, murdering pædophile then?

Islam was dreamt up by a brutal, murdering pædophile who is revered by Muslims as the ideal man and whose life is taken as the perfection they must strive to achieve.

Brutal. Qur’an 4:34: ‘Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the others...As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.’ In Pakistan, over 90% of married women are physically and sexually abused. In England, a gynæcologist talks of the bruising and strangle marks on her Muslim patients and comments that Muslim men think they have a God-given right to beat their wives. Actually, they have. When a Muslim bounces his wife off the kitchen wall, Allah nods approvingly.

Murdering. The only certain path to salvation for Muslims is to die a martyr’s death while killing the unbelievers. Qur’an 9.111: ‘Allah has purchased of the faithful their lives and worldly goods and in return has promised them the Garden [Paradise]. They will fight for His cause, slay, and be slain.’

Pædophile. Hadith Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88, Narrated Ursa: ‘The Prophet wrote the marriage contract with Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years.’ From Arab News: ‘A 10-year-old bride was returned last Sunday to her 80-year-old husband...’

Not all Muslims manage to attain the perfection demanded by the deity created by Mohammed but, at least in the realm of wife-beating, many do the best they can.

The Holy Quran cannot be understood except in the original Arabic, and translations tend to distort the meaning.

The quotation from Qur’an 4:34 regarding wife beating was taken out of context and mistranslated. What it really means is 'Buy her a bunch of flowers and give her a hug'.

I just wish they'd go back to the first lot of desert they created. I don't understand why they want to be in Britain, destroying everything that we have and are. Anybody ever tell them - there's no oil under here?

No! Down with the festival of Eid!

I just tried to order a curry and none of the three local 'Indians'* were open.

Perhaps I should attend a Diversity course.

*Funny, I though the vast majority of Indians were Hindu.

Condoning any festival of the muslim religion is to condone the celebration of satan's beliefs. Would you be sending greetings to overt devil-worship-ers? What about Jedi-ists? Or Wicker?
Just because a cult has a billion followers, doesn't mean it isn't a cult.
We are not a satanist country. we are a Christian country and we should not be encouraging the pagans to become powerful. Deal with them while they are weak; otherwise, the battle will be all the longer and costlier in lives.

Instead of cursing the dark why don`t you turn on the light? Jesus said "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12)

Think of it this way, we sent missionaries all over the world,now we don`t have to bother now, they come to us!
"Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world"!

I'm with Englishman.
Sharia law should be banned and it's practitioner countries votes taken away at the UN and all international forums until they rescind it.

Islam is an evil religion that seeks to dominate the world through submission in the physical, emotional and spiritual realms.
Using political, economic and military/terrorist means.

Get real and wake up or else you'll find your self a Dhimmi in your own country.

I'll assume that Ayatollah's comment was in jest, if not here are three remarkably consistent translations of Quran 4:34;

YUSUFALI: As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly);

PICKTHAL:As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them.

SHAKIR: and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them;

Not all Muslim men are dictatorial, honour killing brutes (remember the Afghan fathers risking death by educating their daughters?) and not every Muslim woman is a subjugated victim (Iranian women are fighting as hard as they can against the rulings of the hardline mullahs). Please don't insult the Muslims who are making a stand for civilised, religious tolerance within Islam itself.

That said, here is what I think of Islam. Sharia is a primitive, poisonous creed and should not be assimilated into British law. EVER! Radical Islam has no place in this country and if it takes to the streets with its murderous and threatening placards then arrest it, prosecute it and sling it out of this country. Do not treat it with kid gloves or give it anything approaching respect.

There should be no London super mosque and Big Ears Charlie should be told to keep his beaky nose out it planning. Him becoming king and "defender of the faiths" is the best argument for a republic I've heard.

Archbish Beardy, rather than accepting the "inevitable", should be fighting hard to prevent the thoroughly repulsive sharia law gaining a foothold on these shores. Maybe then more people would have some respect for him.

Rant over.

The key passage in your message is that the charity is distributed only to Muslims. Alongside the call to violence, a parochial approach to charity distinguishes Islam from Christianity.

Amazing how quick the faithful flock will turn into a group of howling wolves the moment something is said that doesn't agree with their views on your religion.

Quite disheartening really.

Provided the Gnostic can accept an atheist just as easily, i'm with him on this one. I don't agree with any of the islamic religion (just like I don't believe in any religion) but like free speech I would defend your right to practice it, my only issue with all religion is when it bleeds into areas it doesn't belong.

If you remove the true God of the bible a spiritual vacuum is formed and all sorts of spirits rush in to fill this.
This is simply a Law of cause and affect, or sowing and reaping as the Lord put it.
We are probably going to (or possibly are getting) what we have sown.
Because people ( atheists) are in denial of spiritual realities doesn``t make them disappear only makes them more dangerous.
