Equality Bill ‘amounts to the privatisation of faith’

“This Bill represents a final, defiant attempt by this Government to promote the most significant state intervention into people’s Christian freedoms and practices since the Reformation.”

While that is not quite true, this video is a useful little irritant and is apparently being circulated to be played in churches across the UK this Sunday. Doubtless even 10,000 Christians descending upon Parliament will have no effect whatsoever.

Suppression of religion usually helps the religion to thrive if you look back at the martyrs through the ages. All new houses will need to be build with hidden "priest holes".

your grace is a little ahead , for I fear somthing much worse is to do with this . For this to work as christians we can no longer proclaim the supremacy of the christian faith, it is perhaps a tort for the new age.

This heralds a new level of undoing , and an enlarged comfort zone . I hope your grace does not find himself in the undergrowth it is far more devious , this one is chronic in its effects ,idealogically seductive even .

"do you not want to be like god"

I hope we can find some answers over the comming weeks . The fun is being removed from fundamentalist .

When do you folks get to have an election, and kick these idiots out?

The election two days ago in Massachusetts has already had a marvelous sobering effect in Washington...

Your Grace,

It is the duty, before God, of every Judaeo-Christian family to ask this question: by voting for this political party: are we betraying God, family and country?

Let us recall the stream of Judaeo-Christians that have been paraded in the press and hauled before the law courts that have dared to speak out for our faith; who have dared to mention the name of Jesus in the school playground; who have dared to ask another if they would like to be prayed for; who have dared to wear the cross and refused to remove it.

Let us recall the Christian charities that have been shut down for daring to uphold Christian principles in the face of socialist spite. Let us remember our brothers and sisters who have lost their jobs because of the socialist onslaught – and who now search for ways to place a loaf of bread and a bowl of soup on the kitchen table.

Let us remember that under this national socialist government the birthright of our children, of our families, our neighbours and of those yet to be born has been sold to that fascist, unaccountable, power: the European Union.

Let us assemble together and remember: we were once a people.

Dim N' Huff - you keep using the terms 'willy nilly.' I wonder what you mean by it?

Old South, we have until June, by which time Gordon Brown has to ask the Queen to dissolve Parliament and call fresh elections. Brown could try and extend the life of the Parliament, but the press wouldn't have it and neither would the house of lords (one area in which we can still veto the House of Commons).

Even 10,000? 100,000 wouldn't stop a war. 10,000 dotty religious types might raise a laugh or two.
