Daveward – a Jew will lead the Labour Party

The only thing that is certain about the nail-biting contest to lead the Labour Party is that a Jew will win. In this ‘aggressively secular’, enlightened 21st century, it is supposed not to matter.

But, of course, it does.

David and Edward Miliband (henceforth Daveward) come as a package. Whichever wins, the other will be his symbiotic sidekick. While one half is considered the heir to Blair and the other the political soul-mate of Tony Benn, they are both steeped in Marxism through the influence of their Brussels-born, Polish emigré father Adolphe (Ralph) Miliband.

Whatever Daveward says on Israel, Jerusalem, Gaza and the ‘two-state’ solution, he will be cast as a Zionist.

When he calls for a strong, independent and secure Israel, he will be Islamophobic.

Should Daveward ever attend an event organised by Labour Friends of Israel, he will be one of the Jewish mafia.

If ever he mentions that 80 members of his family were slaughtered in the Holocaust, many of them in Auschwitz, he will be accused of peddling propaganda.

When he expresses concern about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the threat they pose to stability in the Middle East, he will be cast as an ambassador for Israel.

When Daveward condemns trade union calls for economic and academic boycotts of Israeli goods and services, he will be accused of condoning Israel’s brutal terrorism and ethnic cleansing.

Whenever he meets with a fellow Jewish politician, financier, or philanthropist, he will be accused of lobbying for Jewish values.

Whenever he dines with the editor or proprietor of a newspaper, he will be part of the global Jewish conspiracy to control the media.

If ever Daveward celebrates Rosh Hashanah or commemorates Yom Kippur, G_d forbid that he utter Shana Tova U'Metuka.

The United Kingdom has become the anti-Semitic capital of Europe.

Daveward will need the wisdom of Solomon and the conviction of Elijah to confront it.

The Conservative Party had its first Jewish leader in 1852: Benjamin Disraeli was the country's first and thus far only prime minister who was born Jewish.

It remains to be seen whether Daveward will give the country its second and lead Labour to its Promised Land.

Thank whoever is up there for this wonderfully sane description of the anti-Semitism masquerading as Freedom Flotilla syndrome.

It can now join the 'EU is going to be fine really' myth, and the 'France is a net contributor to the EU fantasy'.
A Top 50 right-wing blogger salutes a Top 30 Conservative sage.

This post needed a warped mind to write and a disordered one to appreciate. Obviously I lack either: it is distasteful and deplorable.

It has the same irrelevance as "royal bastard leads Tories".

Too true, Your Grace. I heard that Ed and David were the Mossad agents that hunted down Black September after the Munich massacre.

Your Grace,

It is wonderful to see that you are fully restored. Your commentary on the Papal visit has been both amusing and extraordinarily perceptive.

The emergence of a Jewish leader is indeed a fascinating twist and one wonders what it will do for the Labour vote. For example, it is legitimate to ask whether Muslim support for Labour would continue to be as strong as it currently seems. Not that David Cameron should care.

On the other hand I'm not entirely sure that it was a good idea to draw on Radio Islam as a source for this blog. It seems to have ruffled a few feathers.

Blessings

Spot on analysis Cranmer! Bravo!

When the Obama peace talks between the PA & Israel
eventually lead to the fake peace and safety cry as mentioned (1 Thess 5) I wonder if the Milibands will join in the premature celebrations.

When Russia and the evil coalition (Ezekiel 38) invade Israel, triggering the second holocaust (Zechariah 14) will the milibands say "art thou come to take a spoil?"

We live in very interesting times. Buckle up! We are entering the age of "perplexity" which Christ spoke of on Luke 21.

I second Anon 10.22's comment.

As for the Dave/Edward coalition...will they insist that the truth is told about Israel and the Jews in the mainstream media? Or will they duck their responsibilities like the rest of our erstwhile politicians? Preferring the praise of men, rather than God...

I am going to ruffle a few feathers!

The unhealthy kinship between Zionism and Christianity distorts the reality of Middle East politics. In a nutshell it has helped fan the flames of the Israel/Palestine conflict for generations. It has crippled any attempt by US administrations to deal with Israel and even now will throttle Obama’s attempts to halt Israeli settlement building in the occupied West Bank, a prerequisite to any further progress.

Don’t call me anti-Semitic or even worse pro Islam, I am neither. Your beliefs may make you “cousins” but that should not make you soft on Israel. The major threat to world peace can only be dealt with when Israel is forced to concede territory and accept a genuine two state solution.

“The major threat to world peace” rather clumsily put, what I meant was the Arab/Israeli conflict not Israel itself.

Mr Old Holborn,

Judging a politician by his donors is as unjustly complex as judging a blogger by his correspondents.

Hardly Cranmer, people who fund a political campaign do so in order to gain influence or support a political ideology, not the case with your correspondents I think.

Mr Graham Davis

One has to be wildly optimistic to believe that the Israelis will ever seek peace with the Palestinians either by a one state, a two state or any state solution.

Events in the Middle East have taken a turn in Israel's favour and the Sunni Arab kingdoms and dictatorships are now in fear of shi-ite Iran with its nascent atom bomb. As the countervailing regional nuclear power, Israel is in a position to provide a nuclear umbrella to the keeper of the holiest places of Islam, Saudi Arabia. If you had that sort of leverage, would you sue for peace?

I wouldn't and nor will Israel.

If anyone thinks that Israel conceding Territory would bring about a' peaceful solution'they are seriously deluded.

Israel tried that one, didn`t work! Just gives Hamas more space to set up their rocket sites.

Interesting points bluedog, the Sunni/Shia aspect does add another dimension although I am not sure that the Sunni Moslems would see Israel as their likely saviour.

And further still, Your Grace: why should we believe them to be any more Jewish than B&B are Christian?

len - "I guess the Miliband brothers will . . . take their orders from the E U." Well of course. How dare they pretend to be of any other faction? They aren't Britons, and don't represent us. The most vicious deconstructionist joke of all was having one of them head up the "Foreign" Office. [Is that what the marxists dignify as "blank" irony?]

'The Conservative Party had its first Jewish leader in 1852: Benjamin Disraeli was the country's first and thus far only prime minister who was born Jewish.'

In the interests of strict accuracy, your Grace, Disraeli became leader of the Conservatives in the House of Commons in 1849, and the Earl of Derby was the leader of the full party (and five times Prime Minister) until retiring in 1867. Only then did Disraeli become Conservative leader and Prime Minister.

Manfarang "Israel exists because of Christian Zionists of which Cranmer is one"

Zionists definition;

A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to reestablish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel.
..........
That makes me a Zionist too!

Herbert Samuel was part of that movement. He played a role in establishing a Jewish homeland. He was leader of the Liberal Party in the 1930s.
In this day and age many religious Jews do not believe in Zionism, the same as many 'secular' Jews.
As for Ed Miliband, his first remarks as leader of the Labour Party show him for what he is- a cynic.
