Netanyahu rebuffs Obama on return to Israel's pre-1967 borders

If you're worried about being raptured away and want to be spared the sanctimonious waffle, just fast-forward to seven minutes, sit back and enjoy.

Thanks for the reasurance YG but the United States is not a tribe and Obama represents his paymasters and panders to his paymasters.

Article 21 Magna Carta in Obamas books would make you a terrorist.

He is well spoken but what will he do with the common folk of all those tribes and Nations that inhabit this United States he represents.

Rights belong to tribes, Laws belong to Nations.

Your Grace,

I'm a 'post-trib' kind of chap, so I'm not overly concerned, but thanks for the post.

Doesn't Netanyahu make Obama look like a total Wally?

I wish Netanyahu could get over his tribalism too YG.

I am still convinced Israel exists as a Nation and not the tribal sence these narrow minded extremists are perpetuating it.

For the sake of peace end the lie.

Sorry to get all hippy on you all, but there really is ONLY one answer, and the answer is LOVE.

What the world needs now is LOVE, sweet LOVE, which lets fact it folks, there is just too little of.

Why, you may ask, is it because mankind is inherently nasty?

I would strongly contend that he is not as a general rule. However it must be admitted that as mankind has no natural predator, Gods nature might have decreed that man must be his own worst enemy.

Indeed I believe and have much evidence to believe, that unless extremely drunk, or similar, mankind is good to both himself, and to others if let to his own devises and mind.

However the bringers of civilization therefore our ruling elites were taught long ago that mankind can not be properly or eternally ruled unless he is divided from himself, and his fellow creatures, as much , and as often as possible.

Indeed it could be argued that this division marked the beginning of civilization itself.

Old habits die hard, extremely old habits die the hardest, and habits that have existed since the dawn of civilization itself can not die, unless civilization dies, or takes on a completely different form.

A form that not even one as imaginative as myself, has the wits to imagine.

However we can at least try, so that other far distant generations can at least have a chance to do so.

Therefore there is only one truly useful peace of advice that one member of mankind can give to another, during this and all other times.

Do unto others, as you would wish they would do unto you.

Which I sincerely believe virtually all of the worlds people instinctively do, unless they have been manipulated into doing otherwise.

The only people who have ever had the power, and therefore responsibility for manipulating mankind into evil deeds are the people at the very top of the worlds old tribal, then Imperial, and now super-national power structures.

Indeed being at the top of any particular power structure is by definition a job wholly reserved for the most seriously murderous psychopaths.

Which are people who judge that absolutely any means justifies their ends. No lie big enough, mass murder insane enough, scam profitable enough, contempt for the common man absolute enough, or amount of power and control sufficient enough.

Top of the power structure, bottom of the power structure, makes no odds.

They are all a load of crooks, question is does the good shepherd or a bad shepherd hold the crook.

And do the sheeple give a flock.

Man was created in the image of God.When man rejected God he took on the nature of the fallen angel.
He wanted to be 'good' (as God)but found that he could not.He wanted to do 'good' but found that he did evil instead. Evil being more powerful than the will overcame him.
Man became his own worst enemy, and the World has been in turmoil ever since.
Christ is the 'last Adam'to show us what God`s original intention was.
The first Adam is a failure(our failure) the second Adam (Christ)is God`s remedy.

Netanyahu is a political chameleon, and a very clever and successful politician. What he's doing here is staking out a negotiating position, no more and no less.

Although Judeo-Christians tend to see past and future as linear, there exists a belief among some that it has a cyclical nature.

The High King of Tara is central to Ireland, surrounded by Ulster to the north, Connaught to west, Munster to south and Leinster making up a Middle Kingdom and four equinox points.

This fivefold fist has parralells back to Hittites plenary assembly, also arya systems of panca krstayah from India. The system too can be found in Gaza, Askalon, Ashdod, Gath and Ekron of the Biblical Philstines and in the five rings of the Olypmpics flag.

So the competing interests emerging in this region have a more profound historicity than first meets the eye.

What a lot of malicious twaddle on this and the previous thread. You Christians are blinded to reality because you share some of the same absurd biblically based beliefs as the Jews. You see Islam as a threat to this cosy relationship. Well I see the lot of you as a threat to the progress of humanity with your ludicrous superstition and supernatural beliefs.

To any objective mind it is clear that the creation of the State of Israel has been a disaster for world peace and regional stability. Based on fallacious biblical claims it was imposed on an unwilling largely Arab population and so hostility towards it is entirely justifiable. Add to that its support by a succession of US administrations kowtowing to the Jewish lobby, the comments by Obama are just and reasonable.

The State of Israel cannot now be wished away but it must return to the 1967 boundaries. If that means returning 300,000 homes to the Palestinians then justice will have been done.

If Mr Davis's comment (11:05) is more than an empty string of words to assert his wish to take himself more seriously than certain others, he proposes that those he calls "you Christians" "share some of the same absurd biblically based beliefs as the Jews";

but if there is some such error in some of what has been said or written here and elsewhere, he saves himself the effort of addressing that aspect of the state of affairs by reason of his outright rejection of anything he regards as "absurd biblically based beliefs".

Whether or not "the comments by Obama are just and reasonable" (about which there is scope for differences of informed and educated opinion) it will be clear to objective minds that remarks such as those of Mr Davis represent a part of the problem.

It's difficult to read Obama here. He looks concerned but several little things lead me to believe his position hasn't changed. Politicians are great manipulators; they can look and say one thing, whilst thinking and doing the opposite.

Throughout the speech he makes no move. His left hand tightly grips the chair (trying not to move) and his right covers his chin and mouth (making judgement, likely disagreeing). I don't think that's particularly positive, but you never know, he might just have been nervous.

The PM makes a fantastic case against the 1967 borders and the President would look foolish to maintain his position after this. I just wonder what his motives are for putting forward this nonsensical proposition. Naivety? Anti-Zionism? Fear and cowardice? False sense of justice? We shouldn't forget that the US completely caved to the demands of the 9/11 terrorists before setting off on the non-sequitur Afghan war.

How does Mr Davis suggest the Jewish people, around 600,000 of them, ejected from Arab land at the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, be compensated justly?

I said the creation of the State of Israel was a disaster but it now exists and I certainly don’t take the Hamas view that it should be destroyed. However the Palestinians have suffered disastrously at the hands of Israel and if there is any justice in this world (which I doubt) that should be put right.

It is clear that Christian concepts of fairness and charity are conveniently put to one side by many who post here while their sectarian fervour overwhelms those professed values.

Netanyahu is spot on - why can't all politicians tell it like this. Obama's hand over mouth, uncomfortable posture and body language, say how much he knows he is hearing the accurate historic truth and the truthful reality, but it does not fit today's Western world agenda of pro-Arabism.

Mr Graham Davis @ 11.05 in June 1967the state of Israel was eight miles wide.

The military implications being that a 155mm artillery piece on Israeli's eastern border could hit the beach on the western coast. In June 1967, Israel faced imminient attack by quantitively superior Arab armies. It doesn't take much imagination, though possibly more than yours, to recognise that Israel faced obliteration once Arab armies lined its borders. The Arab armies were pre-emptively removed by a qualiatively vastly superior Israeli force. Jordan was a key aggressor at the time and lost a large part of its area as a result. Tough.

You have frequently expressed your belief in the theory of evolution, which implies the survival of the fittest.

Be true to your own beliefs and applaud the successes of Israel.

I didn't see it, but read that Netanyahu's response was heavily and tendentiously edited in the BBC news report of this meeting. That would be consistent with the BBC's nauseating adulation of Obama and hatred of Likud, but it is hardly honest reporting.
