Boris picks up a broom with the 'true people' of London

This is exactly what His Grace was talking about - spontaneous, sincere and authentic. You'll never see David Cameron, George Osborne, Theresa May or Nick Clegg doing this.

Your Grace,

What happened 10 minutes later, when the cameras had gone?

Perhaps he could share some of the £250,000 p.a. 'chicken-feed' (that's what he calls it) with the oiks?

His 'wage' for half a day's work, writing his newspaper column. That's on top of his other 'interests', being (nominally) Mayor is one of them.

These communities rising up are the same ones they threw fortunes at to help solve their inner City problems.

Its all been like nothing more than a form of jizyah, buying them off, as soon as the money stops the real problem is still there.

And in the midst of all this, the useless politician, always glad of a photo shoot.

¬Spontaneous, sincere and authentic' - it would be difficult to think of three more inapprororiate words to describe Boris Johnson.

YG, my apologies if the quote below appears to be somewhat off topic but somehow, I don't think it is.

"David Cameron has ruled out a referendum on Britain’s membership of the European Union on the grounds that the UK had their say 36 years ago.

A senior aide to the Prime Minister enraged eurosceptics yesterday by claiming that the UK must remain a member of the EU because Brussels bureaucrats have done ‘useful work’ on climate change and global poverty."

Dave and his gang seem to have a totally different agenda than the average Brit. They seem to live in a different world.

I start to wonder if the riots were stage managed and the police reaction as well.

Surrealism.

Will the only solution for the insane violence be more restrictions on our freedom?

Will the benevolent EU require more power to save us from the climate and will we need to send more money to the noble EU though carbon taxes to save us, and the world, from poverty?

Do we need help from the EU to stop these riots?

Do we need to arm ourselves?

Go Boris, you can do it!

The Great London Sweep Up wasn't his idae though but he joined in.

I do like Boris. He's an odd ball who speaks his mind, isn't polished and can laugh at himself. In my opinion he is also a man of more substance than some people give him credit for.

And English Viking your really are starting to sound a little bit envious. At least he's not a merchant banker with his nose in that in that trough.

Is there any public figure you support - living that it?

The broom is a symbol. Where did Bozza get the broom? Did he by any chance loot it from a hardware or convenience store? Or was it paid for by the longsuffering council tax payers of London? Is it the equivalent of Chamberlain's piece of paper, or Hailsham's handbell? (Remember that?) Or maybe Jacqui Smith's stab vest...

Was it a new broom? If so, is Bozza conveying a message about the Tory party and his intentions towards it?

Are you being ironic? I really would like to know.
Boris is as much part of the problem as the rest of the useless political class.
Yesterday will prove to be the beginning of the end for the liberal elite that has wrecked my country.
They are finished . If you really think Boris is any different then you are deluded.
The "true People" are no longer listening.

Nor do I. In my view, it is intimately connected with "examining religio-political agendas with politico-religious objectives", and therefore relevant directly or indirectly with this blogsite's declared intent.

"...'the UK must remain a member of the EU because Brussels bureaucrats have done ‘useful work’ on climate change and global poverty.' Dave and his gang seem to have a totally different agenda than the average Brit. They seem to live in a different world."

That is undoubtedly so. How far this accounts for the management of crowd incitement or contol in the present disturbances may be less certain.

Mr Owl @ 21.18 raises the points that need to be raised.

The utter failure of the political elite's agenda is now on display.

To all practical intents and purposes there is no difference between any of the political parties that have held power in the last 40 years. Their policies have been twofiold, membership of the EU and unrestricted Third World immigration irrespective of the cost.

It should finally be obvious to the British electorate that the agenda that they have been sold is an absolute disaster. The politicians have been completely discredited; not even their police service is effective.

The only way forward is a clean sweep of the elite and a new social compact within the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Time to reclaim our countries and run things as our instincts have always told us, whatever the cost.

Listen and hear the debates going on and work it out for yourself. It's complex and multi-faceted and really has little to do with Europe or so called mass immigration from the continent as so many on here are arguing.

Whinging and whining about halycon bygone days will not help.

FLASHMOBS.

We are now living in the age of The FLASHMOB, as 'predicted' in great and published detail by the Royal Institute of International Affairs over 25 years ago.

Can you lot not see what is REALLY going on?

The establishment is now giving us what it 'predicted' it would.

Can you lot not see your TRUE REALITY even when it is standing right in front of you, holding a stolen plasma TV in its hands?

Your own establishment has finally pushed the proverbial button on this society.

This is undoubtedly the END of The UK as we though we once knew it.

This is clearly and most obviously not simply a bunch of mindless thugs, this is the establishment in covert action.

The exact same establishment that flicked the proverbial switch on places such as Egypt, Syria, and Libya less then one year ago.

These 'events' are highly co-ordinated and long since premeditated to happen at the exact same time as our so called free-market capitalist system is being utterly transformed into a wholly corporatist capitalist one.

Only, repeat ONLY the powers that be, have the power to organize such 'events' from the very top. Indeed absolutely nothing of any real social or political consequence has ever been organized from any other place.

This is our common reality, a reality I for one have been trying to warn my fellow citizens about for the last 20 or more years.

Nothing will ever seem to be the same again from this day onwards.

I make this prediction.

At some time in the near or not so near future we will see police forces drafted in for other EU countries.

Can you imagine armed German police or armed forces patrolling the streets of our major cities and towns?

If not, then do so, and do so fast, because soon enough you we not need to imagine any such thing.

I am on the Guardian Newspaper’s naughty list so this comment will probably not get published over there. It will be “moderated” (Read censored ) out. Lots of press sites do this including the Daily Mail. Freedom of speech, they seem to feel, is ONLY for the press and those that agree with THEIR line. Anyway, here it is:-
“It’s time that people who are engaged in looting and violence stopped hearing economic and social justifications.” Boris Johnson.

Yeah. The last thing politicians want to do is admit that by following feminist theories and politics they have allowed our families to be destroyed leaving our young men with no other role models than the local gang and a huge army of single mothers unable to cope with lads often twice their size and which are costing the country an absolute fortune to maintain.

Boris will not admit those facts but he has admitted that he is an “ardent feminist” See here: http://www.boris-johnson.com/2007/02/01/female-ascendancy/ (Para 7)

What he did NOT say in his article called “Female Ascendancy” was that this ascendancy has happened at the expense of men and boys. Resources have been taken away from them leaving them with nothing in the way of practical support. The education system has been tailored for females. Family courts have been engaged in a deliberate campaign to deny fathers access to their children Laws written to benefit females unfairly in the work place have pushed men aside. Male abuse victims have been ignored and government have refused them funding help. The BBC has been allowed to pump out anti family and anti men and father propaganda without challenge for years. There is even talk of closing all women’s prisons! See here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13666066

This is as Marxist as it is possible to get without actually making everyone address each other as comrade, which may explain why Boris would rather not have people talking about these “social justifications.” The last thing Boris and his pal 'Cast Iron Dave' want is their cover blown.

The opera isn't over till someone blames it all on Margaret Thatcher.

Nice to see a politician grabbing a broom and helping. Even if he didn't actually do any sweeping (and why do some of you assume he didn't) it is sending the right message.

The stories today about people stopping looters from entering their streets are heartening, this is the England the rest of us expect. The rest of the world would have imposed a curfew and let the army loose - but I suppose there's still time for that...

Our Sally - it is Thatcher's fault ;o)

I assume he didn't use the broom because he wasn't seen to do so. He probably wouldn't know how, either.

Atlas Shrugged: the initial Tottenham riots seemed to be triggered by the shooting of Mark Duggan. Are you saying that this shooting was also orchestrated, or just that there have been mobs "standing by" for an opportunity, an excuse if you will, and a word from on high?

Is this connected with 20:17 or 20:37?

It can be reported that at the Jug & Bottle the word was "Hear, hear" to 00:18 (satyriasis), and "But that hasn't stopped his old school mate being another kind of public cheat."

Also "What is gaffer 00:22 on about? If he ever had it he must have lost it. After all, could be 00:33 has a point, and Mr/Mrs/Ms Naugty Listee (01:36)".

But if all we're allowed to is clear up after the event, then we're finished as a country.

I want to see the ordinary people out there with rather more serious weaponry, deterring and dispersing (if nothing more) the thugs before they trash the place.

It's interesting to note that the only ones doing it so far are immigrant communities, whose coherence has presumably not yet been destroyed by the Left.
