Pope Benedict welcomes the new British Ambassador to the Holy See

Here are the priority concerns of Pope Benedict XVI, graciously expressed in his speech to the new British Ambassador to the Holy See, His Excellency Nigel Baker OBE MVO:

"...your Government wishes to employ policies that are based on enduring values that cannot be simply expressed in legal terms. This is especially important in the light of events in England this summer. When policies do not presume or promote objective values, the resulting moral relativism, instead of leading to a society that is free, fair, just and compassionate, tends instead to produce frustration, despair, selfishness and a disregard for the life and liberty of others. Policy makers are therefore right to look urgently for ways to uphold excellence in education, to promote social opportunity and economic mobility, to examine ways to favour long-term employment and to spread wealth much more fairly and broadly throughout society. Moreover, the active fostering of the essential values of a healthy society, through the defence of life and of the family, the sound moral education of the young, and a fraternal regard for the poor and the weak, will surely help to rebuild a positive sense of one’s duty, in charity, towards friends and strangers alike in the local community. Be assured that the Catholic Church in your country is eager to continue offering her substantial contribution to the common good through her offices and agencies, in accordance with her own principles and in the light of the Christian vision of the rights and dignity of the human person."

Mr Baker's speech on behalf of Her Majesty's Government included a priority commitment to 'tackling existential threats such as climate change'.

It is heartening that one side grasps the issues.

Could anyone who holds the christian faith dear to their hearts, draw any other conclusion except that this bunch of shysters hold our concerns and the majority of the people of this country, in sneering contempt.

Climate change is in the hands of God. Destruction of the world is primarily in our hands. The Book of Revelation Apocolypse tells us "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." I think that includes arms proliferation (to which the ambassador alluded), polluting the seas with all manner of toxic waste and deforestation of the rain forests.

Somewhere in the Bible it says God will not be mocked. Seems to be happening on a daily basis.

The inanity of the government policy on climate reflects the low level to which science in the UK has fallen. This is evidenced by the scientists at York University who calculated the carbon footprint of the average UK Christmas dinner and those who blamed livestock for "bovoprogenic" warming.

The recent experiment at CERN seems to show that the sun may actualy be responsible for warming the earth.

Here is a parable which shows that the same set of data is rigorously compatible with both global warming and cooling, ergo, implicitly proving that both sides in this nonsensical debate are correct.

Incidentally, the previous government announced that an increase in the prison population together with changes in “regime facilities”, such as the provision of in-cell showers, have boosted CO2 emissions. See here for details.

I guess the riots are not helping the situation.

Climate change is in the hands of God. (Hogwash..Tis man made religion mascarading as stealth taxes to the glee of politicians KERCHINK!!)
Destruction of the world is primarily in our hands. The Book of Revelation Apocolypse (It means the Revealing of Christ Himself 'Revelation of Jesus Christ'or 'Apokalypsis Iesou Christou' in ancient Greek', not man made war, which is co-incidental to the revealing. Christ is declaring His Power and Authority of who He is and PROVING it)tells us "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." I think that includes arms proliferation
( Read in full all relevant verses

Revelation 7

1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Human being are angels now, are we. No wonder people like you bring God's Word into disrepute!

Therefore I THINK NOT!)
(to which the ambassador alluded) (HE DID NOT), polluting the seas with all manner of toxic waste and deforestation of the rain forests.

Atlas Shrugged @ 02.05, your post is confusing. Are you really suggesting that Denis Healey was a Nazi?

If you know of any material difference between Left-wing corporatism, and Right -wing corporatism I would be keen to know what it is.

As I have said time and time again this is a conspiracy run by people who consider themselves well above the apparent left-wing/right-wing divide. People like national finance ministers are most usually unwitting pawns in an extremely nasty game.

Your owners however are Marxists in name, and sometimes not, but are all CORPORATISTS. Which is why they have the entire known universe by the proverbial balls.

Have you ever wondered why two of the greatest capitalists this world has ever known, are L..d E....n de R........d, and G....e S...s?

The former was a self-confessed Marxist at university, whose family financed the setting up of The LSE, which is a perfect hot bed of Marxist economic and political doctrine and the later a self-confessed Marxist that was one of The LSE's first students.

Left and right are jokes to these people, as they are themselves sometimes both, as well as more often neither.

We do however have a term in the English language which best describes a socialist capitalist. You guessed it, FASCIST, the German variety known as NAZI'S, the British, European and American type better known as FABIANS, EU-fanatics, or Those Fascist Bastards.

These people are many things, but most certainly not devotees of anything notably FREE, most especially truly FREE-MARKETS.

These chaps did not get as rich as they are by allowing markets to actually be free. This, as a free market requires the biggest of all investors to gamble with funds they have absolutely no intention of losing. The words losing, truth, democracy, as well as competition, are not in their vocabulary. These, quite literally, are swear words to the elite.

Losing is for small investors, tax payers, pensioners and national governments. Monopoly is the name of their brand of game. Which is why they have been rigging, or dictating to the markets they themselves created, as well as to ALL national governments, for now at least 200 years.

Slightly more ON TOPIC.

Fine words from Pope Benedict, he becomes more of a politician every day. He is beginning to make Tony Blair look like an amateur.

Worth remembering however that The Vatican Bank is a major investor in various R........d enterprises, and so is The Queen of England, along with her entire British Crown Estates, and Common Wealth. Indeed it is said that the R........s are both The QofE's, The CofE's, as well as The Popes most favored bank managers.

Which added to the wealth of The R........a, K.....y, W.....g, A...r and D....t families, and a few highly notable others, apparently accounts for up to around 75% of the entire wealth of the entire planet, much including America, Middle-East, China and Japan.

I am sure you will agree, that the above is not exactly common knowledge to say the least.

It is interesting that Pope Benedict neglected to mention tackling existential climate change for this is a policy which has long since been very close to his own bank managers heart. Indeed his own son, D...d de R........d is the political head of, as well as main financial backer for, the worlds ecological movement.

Finding conspiracy of one type or another is a remarkably easy thing to do, for many reasons. The foremost of these being, that conspiracy is absolutely EVERYWHERE one cares to look for it, and has ALWAYS been so.

All it takes is a little simple joining up of the dots, and not relying on your MSM, and most especially your BBC, to do it for you. As a general rule if it looks like a conspiracy it most surely is. Also if it looks like a cock-up, or even an Act of God, most especially if the BBC most stridently presents it as such, it is also a conspiracy, but an infinitely more expensive and/or dangerously murderous one.

I have no way of knowing, but somehow I doubt your assertion, as I am yet to know of anyone that has read there Bible as it was originally intended.

As I have said before, ANYONE that claims to have an understanding of the true nature of God, cannot possibly have so much as half as clue as to what it actually is.

Although much of what you allude to has some degree of credence.

As it is above, it must be shown to be below. More importantly there exists certain organizations who's main job it is to make as sure as possible that this appears to be the case.

Let me put it this way.

I could very easily predict that my wife was going to get run over by the proverbial Red Bus, if I intended to push her under one.

Revelation is in a similar category of divination.

Therefore.

If I intended for whatever reason to install a new messiah to apparently rule over the entire world, for example, I would be well advised to have a very serious read of my religious texts before making any particular plans.

Get it?

Ok, maybe not, however I hope the above is serious food for thought.

There is of course no relationship whatsoever between pollution of the environment and CO2, or indeed CO2=MMGCC. CO2 is neither a pollutant, and its level more then extremely superficially anything to do with human activity.

What it is is an extremely well thought out scam designed to tax the western world into a virtual standstill, while spending vast fortunes barking up completely the wrong environmental trees.

In other words spending vast amounts of time, resources, energy and hard cash, NOT doing anything at all constructive to reduce the levels of pollution in this world.

I refer to my above comments.

It is not a coincidence that the father of the person who heads up the environmental movement is the owner of many mining and industrial corporations that have destroyed more of the earths natural environment, as well as human cultures, then any possible other.

It is also not a coincidence that the chap who owns the banks which lent the cash at favorable interest to western governments to pay for things such as wind-turbines, was the father of the person who heads up the environmental movement.

BTW RE: Climate change.

Imagine that the climate never changed. Not ever.

That the weather tomorrow would be the same as today, which was the same as yesterday.

Ad infinitum.

If it was this way, tossers like Baker would claim that we had so fecked the planet that the climate never changed, and therefore we need to tax you to death in order to avert some unknown, unexplained, nay, inexplicable catastrophe that spells your impending doom, at some unknown and, indeed, unknowable point in the future.

Just looking at his smug face makes me want to snatch the life right out of him. Has he ever sweated in a factory? Dug a few trenches, perhaps? Sat by the side of a machine that spat out parts, that need to be assembled in less time than it takes for the next part to be spewed forth?

Jeg tro ikke!

If this man has never known what it is like to earn a fiver and owe a tenner, what right has he to be judge and divider over thee?

None. remember that fact, when you are still hungry, and he is still smug.

How the feck did we get to this point? Where the feckin' Pope has more sense than HM's Government?

But religious matters are very different as these affect ones eternal destiny and I believe the Catholic religious system is riddled with errors.

Reading both Mr Baker's address and also his CV, it is plain that he is a nuanced and calculating product of a nuanced and calculating organisation. Nothing wrong with that where the FCO is concerned, we pay them to calculate.

However the economy of Baker's CV is remarkable and presumably deliberate, telling very little apart from his career moves. His marriage to Sasha is mentioned together with a child, but nothing about his background, education or interests outside the FCO. Most Western nations appoint a Roman Catholic as their representative to the Holy See, if they can. In this context, Mr Baker's CV is completely silent on matters confessional. Is it significant or relevant that Mr Baker's second given name is the slightly less than apostolic 'Markus', rather than 'Mark'. We may never know.

And then there is the posting to Clarence House. Is this where the emphasis on climate change comes from? Did HRH persuade Baker that multi-faith (Defender of Faiths) is preferable? Or, taking a lead from our future King, will Baker 'adopt positions close to Islam', as the doctoral citation read when Charles received his Honorary Doctorate from Al-Azhar in Egypt?

It may be that Baker left Clarence House vowing never to have anything more to do with the place. But if not, it may also be that Charles now has a man in the Holy See. In which case, God save the Pope.

And that's where you fail to grasp the significance of Catholic social teaching.

Apart from justice being God's Will, social evils corrupt individuals and influence people's capacity to be receptive to the Gospel.

We are all waiting hopefully for the return of Jesus but let's not be too dismissive of the role we as Christians have to continuing playing in building a society that promotes the common good.

Afterall, your calculations may be wrong!

John 1
Chapter 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, HE HATH DECLARED HIM.

If you know Jesus Christ The Only BEGOTTEN SON ,then you know God!
