Iran: the Jews are responsible for global drug trade

You don’t need to dig very deeply at all to find entire websites dedicated to Muslim conspiracy theories (eg HERE: enjoy).

But this is a new one.

To His Grace, at any rate.

Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi of Iran delivered a speech (at a conference sponsored by the UN) in which he said the Talmud not only teaches to ‘destroy everyone who opposes the Jews’, but that the sacred text is responsible for the spread of illegal drugs around the world.

His evidence (as he views it) is that no Zionists are addicted to drugs. He announced: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will pay for anybody who can research and find one single Zionist who is an addict. They do not exist. This is the proof of their involvement in drugs trade.”

So, that’s that then.

And so persuaded is he of his research methodology that he has offered payment to anyone who can find a Jewish drug addict: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will pay for anybody who can research and find one single Zionist who is an addict. They do not exist. This is the proof of their involvement in drugs trade.”

He also said the Talmud teaches Jews to think that they are a superior race. “They think God has created the world so that all other nations can serve them,” he said. Halfway through his speech, Mr. Rahimi said there was a difference between Jews who “honestly follow the prophet Moses” and the Zionists, who are “the main elements of the international drugs trade.”

It is worth remembering that there are more than 25,000 Jews living in Iran. To the Vice President, they are doubtless all evil Zionists. To him, the terms are synonymous, mutually inclusive, coterminous.

One wonders how they feel, as an ethno-religious minority, besieged by such oppression.

His Grace just thought he would flag this story up, because the BBC (along with most of the MSM) didn’t bother to do so. If this had been some obscure Jewish shepherd in Israel blaming the Palestinians for sneezing, it would have been broadcast far and wide and filled more than a few column inches in the press. But the Vice President of Iran blaming the Jews for the world’s deadly drugs problem falls under the radar of what passes as the ‘mainstream’ media. Such flagrant anti-Semitism and blatant Jew-hatred just isn’t worth reporting.

And where it is reported, the big story is spectacularly missed - or purposely sidelined. The focus tends to shift from the Islamist political theology of Mohammad-Reza Rahimi to diplomatic imperatives and realpolitik. As one diplomat reasons: “If we do not support the United Nations on helping Iran fight drugs, voices like the one of Mr Rahimi will be the only ones out there.”

So, we must permit and promote (indeed, subsidise) such views in order to assist Iran’s battle against its own drugs problem. And by so doing, their drugs are deemed to be of greater significance than Israel’s existence: Iranian rehab is of a higher priority than the life of a Jew.

By not challenging the odious views of people like Mohammad-Reza Rahimi, the West affirms the genocidal regime of President Ahmadinejad and legitimises the fanatical theology of Ayatollah Khamenei. The appeasement is manifest in the toothless ‘condemnation’ which emanates from the foreign offices and embassies of the world, for whom a little Jew-hatred is a price worth paying to get the Muslim Brotherhood on-side.

The anonymous European diplomat present at the conference tells us that his ‘gut reaction’ was to ask ‘Why are we supporting any cooperation with these people?’

Why, indeed.

Perhaps those nice chaps at the UN should first read the Book of Proverbs before endorsing conferences.

The first nine chapters are full of references to two women who compete for the prince’s attention and affection. Lady Wisdom is introduced in chapter 1, in the street exhorting the simpletons to abandon their folly and warning them of the consequences if they refuse to hear (1:20-33). Chapter 2 introduces the second woman, the adulteress, Dame Folly (9:13); her ways are the ways of death (2:16-18). She is a loud and boisterous woman who preys on the simple (9:13).

Wisdom brings life, riches, and honor. Folly bring poverty, shame, and ultimately death; her house is a highway to the grave and she leads those who foolishly follow her by a nose snare.

ME Souffle I was cooking collapsed yesterday so it must be those nasty Jews that put something in me ingredients and fiddled with me oven's temperature. Couldn't possibly be Ernst's fault, could it?

Another amusing tale from Persia, Your Grace, one I would have missed had you not alerted us. Our boy Ahmie is a veritable fount of giggles, he sure is.

I won't get into details about the awkward spots of trouble with recreational botanicals this Zionist got himself into back in the halcyon university days o-so-many-years ago, but had there been an offer like this one then, I'd have been on the plane to Teheran and would now be retired, daubing on canvasses for the sheer pleasure of it and tooling around in a freightliner hauling my own mobile party club/cottage, rather than loads of frozen orange juice from Florida or ghastly pork bellies from Manitoba.

Sorry about your soufflé, Mr Ernst; rather insensitive of me, as my cooking involves less time-sensitive dishes such as soups, roasts, casseroles and stews, and I avoid baking, which requires precision, discipline and patience. I'll need a heads-up on when you next plan such finicky culinary attempts as soufflés so I can reduce the collateral damage by temporarily turning down the ELFs (extremely low frequency waves) which I've been aiming at Corrigan. Anyhow, greetings; I trust that you and yours, kitty-cats included are well?

His Grace. Mr. Rahimi said there was a difference between Jews who “honestly follow the prophet Moses” and the Zionists, who are “the main elements of the international drugs trade.”

Interesting this. A few months ago, the Inspector investigated several hate sites on the web. He wanted to see where Atlas was getting his anti Catholic bile from. And sure enough there it was – a distinction between ‘the people of the book’ who according to these sites, can do no wrong, and the interlopers into Judaism responsible for usury, corrupt living, Zionism etc who are the ‘enemies of us all’ including the good people of the book, God’s original chosen people.

So here we have a post NAZI development in anti Semitism.

The Inspector is reminded of Germany in the late 1930s. The rapidly spreading exclusion from public life for those with Jewish ancestry threatened to remove from office a substantial chunk of the leaders of the armed forces. It prompted Goering to say “I get to say who is or isn’t a Jew…”. And sure enough, he had his way…

I was watching a programme the other day cannot remember the name of the programme(missed the start)or the station but it was a propaganda film(now banned in Germany)which was teaching small German children that the Jews were responsible for everything which was wrong in the World.
This was accepted by these young children and became part of their culture , part of their mind set.
It was a form of brainwashing which no one(who valued their life) questioned.
Arabs brought up in a anti- semitic culture need to question the motives and the reasons of anti- semitism.

The West could help reverse the wave of anti semitism being promoted by those who hate the Jews without reason by revealing the reasons and the history of anti semitism.

The World owes the Jews more than most people acknowledge or possible understand, perhaps if more programme makers in the Media were more interested in the truth and revealing the agenda behind anti semitism the balance might possibly be restored?.

It's a slice to be back, Mr Ernst. Regarding Atlas' works I'd have to read a bit more of them to get a source triangulation, but I've also been busy with work and life and I don't keep up with the information the way I used to in my firebrand days. Dodo seems to imply a predominantly anti-Catholic focus, which would narrow things down a bit. Hey, Dodo, you're not trying to upstage me here, are you? I mean with your Jewish father and being a suffering Catholic to boot. Please tell me you're not a one-legged orphan. As for the UN stuff, most of it's cumulative, recycled stuff which, like radioctive matter, is no less lethal.

Len, I note you take the more secular, modern approach to antisemitism as I do, in that you see it as an understandable, manageable phenomenon. Many of my coreligionists, some of whom I study with, take a deeper theological angle which views antisemitism as an inevitable, prophesied condition resulting from the existence of Jews and the fear and hatred the World has for G-d and His demands. That's a poor summary, btw. Some of their arguments are quite convincing, especially those that point out that the more Jews attempt to distance themselves from their Torah and their purpose in the world, the more strident Jew-hatred becomes...kind of as if we're confined to a herd, with beastly predators waiting to chew-off our jugulars if we should stray from the path. The notion is that we seem to be a kind of a "universal irritant" and that no matter what we do, it'll be one thing or another that'll bring hate, even when we think that we're hiding and have become like everyone else. History certainly seems to provide plenty of argument for that view. Nevertheless, being a simpler type, I prefer the approach which assumes a less supernatural and deterministic role for antisemitism. I notice that it's a cultural and historical thingamajig limited to certain areas, times and cultures and I note too that it can be ameliorated, sometimes within a single generation and there are cultures and times which never knew antisemitism for generations. This suggests to me that it's one of the many things which the Almighty has given us power to change in our mission to repair the World. I hope I'm right, because I tell this to my kids when they ask about whether they can one day too suddenly face the equivant of the Romans, burnings and expulsions, the Crusades, progroms or the Shoah.

Anyhow, folks, my long Canada Day weekend is about to end, with an urgent request for me to take a load over to Montreal tonight and possibly another one from there to North Bay in the morning (that detail's for the Inspector who likes to trace my routes on his atlas). So, time to dine with the family and pack my herrings and seltzer water. Ta-da, everyone and play nice.

Ok then, let me ask you a question.

Who is responsible for the drugs trade?

Any ideas?

The Italian, or New-York Mafia.

Warm, but no cigar.

Any other ideas?

Thought not, so let me give you some pointers.

Let me try the DEDUCTIVE argument.

The drugs trade is very big business. It involves transporting drugs products all over the world, from generally poor countries to rich ones, resulting in vast profits, with mouth watering mark-ups of around 20,000%. It is worth noting that no other business ever known to the world short of prostitution, has even the potential for these kind of percentage profits.

The resultant trillions have little use to its owner if not laundered into legitimate business, therefore the vast majority of it is. These vast sums ultimately end up in BANK ACCOUNTS often to be located in Switzerland, which is then invested in markets through places such as The City of London and New York, often. Please be reminded that banks are now required by law to report any cash deposit in excess of a lowly £2000 to the tax officials.

We exist in an age of many highly sophisticated technologies most notably satellite surveillance capable of reading a news paper from Earths orbit.

Yet we are expected to believe that our governments do not know where the drugs are coming from, which shipping ports the drugs are being delivered to, and have little or no idea who the big drugs dealers are.

This is of course perfect nonsense, as any half honest cop will gladly tell you in confidence, given a beer or two.

Therefore it is pure common sense to assume that our REAL government knows exactly where almost ALL of the drugs are coming from, going to, and where the profits end up, which is of course largely in THEIR BANKS or multi-national corporations.
Of course these highly departmentalized establishment owned organizations could not, and therefore do not function alone.

Yes, you guessed it, a conspiracy is required between ALL other of the worlds secret services, including that of Iran, Russia, China, and Saudi-Arabia.

There has only ever ultimately existed just one power over this entire world which has the required diplomatic, military, and financial power to hold together such a conspiracy between the very top of all of these seemingly disparate nations.

Of course banking and those whom largely control its more important paper work, are of a Jewish persuasion. However Jews make up a very tiny proportion of the worlds population, and a still tiny proportion of its national or pan-national governments. Therefore could not have achieved their special position near the top of the pyramid, without being of service to a certain religious institution which undoubtedly is at, or much nearer the very top.

But surely it was yourself, Atlas, which claimed that this certain religious institution has long since been the main propagator of Anti-semitism around the entire Globe, most especially 1930-40s Germany? I can imagine you thinking.

The TRUTH may often be horribly stranger then fiction, but it is no less true as a consequence.

The Jews were chosen by God - by His special favour and Grace - to be the people to whom He revealed His Truth and from whom the Christ would come into the world.

And yet Jesus of Nazereth, the Christ, spent much of His ministry warning about the corruption of God's Law and the oral traditions and rules of men that voided the essence of Scripture. Mark chapter 7: 1-13 represents Our Lord's pointed condemnation of the Pharisees of His time (modern day Rabbinical Judaism?).

Today, the world "owes" the Jews the right to practice their religion without persecution or fear and certainly without the hatred. St Paul teaches that if Christ had not been rejected by the Jews of His time and crucified, salvation would not be ours as Gentiles. It also "owes" the secular, modern day State of Israel support in resisting the threat they face from militant Islamism.

More than that is speculation.

Christians, of course, see the prophesises as relating to Jesus Christ.

There is another explanation that can be derived from the Torah and sacred texts of Judaism. The history of the Jews, as presented in the Bible, associates hardship for God's chosen people with a failure to follow His ways.

In truth, as a Christian, I have to say that the Third Temple era you long for and the Messiah you wait for to restore the Davidic Kingdom, has already come and was rejected.

Hi Dodo,

I did look up Jesuits and various conspiracies. I think this one is the most halarious one I could find :

'In their book Titanic & Olympic: The Truth Behind the Conspiracy, historians Bruce Beveridge and Steve Hall debunk various conspiracy theories about the sinking of the Titanic, including one, which they describe as falling into the category of the "completely ridiculous", that the Jesuits were responsible. In the early 20th century, the Jesuits were supposedly seeking a means to fund their schemes and wars. In 1910, at a clandestine meeting hosted by J. P. Morgan, seven major financiers controlled by or in league with the Jesuits came to an agreement on the need to eliminate outside competition in the banking world and to create a central bank backed by the United States Government, to be known later as the Federal Reserve. This scheme, however, was opposed by certain influential businessmen such as Benjamin Guggenheim, Isador Strauss and John Jacob Astor IV. In order to eliminate these three powerful "enemies", the Jesuits ordered Morgan to build the Titanic and arrange for them to board it for a pre-arranged fatal maiden voyage.

The theory makes the unlikely claim that Captain Edward Smith was a "Jesuit temporal coadjutor". The "accidental sinking" was arranged by having Smith's "Jesuit master", Father Francis Browne, board the Titanic and order Smith to run his ship at full speed through an ice field on a moonless night, ignoring any ice warnings including those from the lookouts, with the purpose of hitting an iceberg severely enough to cause the ship to founder and the three businessmen to drown. In other words, the Titanic was built and then sunk, and her crew and passengers sacrificed, simply to eliminate these three men. As evidence, the conspiracy theorists say that after the sinking, all opposition to the Federal Reserve disappeared. It was set up in December 1913, and eight months later the Jesuits allegedly had sufficient funding to launch a European war. Beveridge and Hall note that the theory never addresses "why conspirators in 1910 would feel sinking a ship was an economical way to eliminate 'enemies' or how they would arrange for all three victims to board a specific ship on a specific voyage two years later"'.

Explain what exactly, I thought I explained how the drugs business works rather well?

Are you surprised to know that your government is corrupt, because it seems that very few others are?

It is difficult to communicate the truth, especially with any degree of brevity. If it was easy everyone would know what it is, therefore it would not need an explanation.

A poll was recently taken and published, the details of which are currently on the political betting site.

It shows the degree of trust the public have in particular professions.

It is one thing for the public to instinctively know that their bankers, politicians, journalists, business leaders, pollsters, government ministers, and many others are a bunch of self interested liars, it is quite a different matter to fully understand why they are, or need to be.

Difficult, mainly because the truth is so incredibly nasty in all respects, that the vast majority simply can't handle the truth.

The truth is best located by first accepting the following statement.

Virtually EVERTHING you thought you knew, is either a lie, or is based on a lie.

This is a very difficult understanding to deal with, indeed it has the potential to fundamentally undermine the very foundations of your being.

Therefore don't feel bad if you prefer to exist in ignorance, for you would be in good amount of company.

However if you desire truth, and feel that you can handle it, but still feel that what I have alluded to is 'bonkers,' then please perform your own research on the subject of the international drugs trade with the intention of proving me wrong.

For if you do, I am extremely confident that you will only serve in proving me to be absolutely correct.

Sanctions against Iran by Europe and USA only came into full effect this weekend. Oil exports from there have dropped by a third already and food costs and unemployment are soaring. Iranian foreign reserves will run dry as 80% comes from its export of oil.

Should they block the Straits it won't last too long. The American Fifth Fleet capacity is far superior. One aircraft carrier has more firepower than the entire Iranian airforce. It will also give America and its allies a pretext to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. The unpredictable element is Iran's long-standing threat to attack Israel and mobilise its 'sleeper terrorist cells' in the Arab world.

Oil prices will soar in the short term and damage our economies. That aside, I wouldn't be too concerned.

For corruption of God's Laws etc above, kindly replace with catechism and popes!

In truth, as a Christian, I have to say that the Third Temple era you long for and the Messiah you wait for to restore the Davidic Kingdom, has already come and was rejected.

"Luke 1:32-33 -
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." Really, when did this occur, the third temple being built, the antichrist desolating it with his presence and Christ reigning on David's throne as King or was Gabriel lying on God's behalf (Revelation was written after Titus's desecration of Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD)?? Does God lie????

This is where your allegorising and eschatology leads you!

"Are you claiming the Messiah has not come? " Christ came to the 2nd temple as prophesied in the OT to the very day, fulfilling all things written about The Lamb of God..The Lion of the tribe of Judah is future!! ! or have I missed a 3rd temple worship construction in Jerusalem?

"That the Temple has to be rebuilt before this can happen?" Please read OT and historical facts to see this is nonsense. You allegorise historical facts to suit your eschatology and Ecclesiology.

"How do you interpret the Bible about the Second Coming, the nature of the rule of Christ, the Temple and the part to be played by Judaisim." It is not how I interpret, it is how ammillenialists deny the scriptures by saying future things are already complete, despite the obvious. Could Gabriel be mistaken and the prophets. Say how? Has He returned already...again, not that we would appear to have noticed it. ;-o

You have Augustine, who followed the master gnostic Origen, so that all the Bible is a mystery that needs smoke and mirrors to be rationalised.

The Bible uses over 200 rhetorical devices and explains them or makes them clear by explanation but is explicit that if it is to happen literally, it will, because God says so. Ernst takes his Bible seriously.

So go ahead and explain what the Bible teaches about the Second Coming, the nature of the Messianic Kingdom and the role of Temple worship and rabbinical Judaism.

You really must stop demanding that people 'spoon feed' you with Biblical facts which you should know(if you read the Bible)

The only way you can be 100% sure of the truth is if you read it yourself!.

Do not trust anyone (apart from God) to inform you of the truth ,this include 'religious organisations and cults, however long established and claiming to be 'the only way'.

'All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness'(2Timothy 3:16)

Ernest is a fund of knowledge and I heartily agree with his comments.

Many things in the Bible have to be interpreted with the assistance of the Holy Spirit.

Daniel 12:10 NIV

Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

Hi Dodo,

I'd calm down if Iran wasn't run by a madman who wants to wipe Israel off the map- and with a nuke that is exactly what this nut will do!that's not the statement of a rational leader of nation. And of course the Persians themselves want a change from the theocratic dictatorship they find themselves in. Not suprising given that the wisemen from the Bible came from Persia!

Thank you but I'm waiting fpr a comment back from Ernsty.

I take it you consider amongst the wise who with the assistance of the Holy Spirit understand.

Maybe you'd like to share your thoughts on whether there is to be an earthly Kingdom on Christ's return and if it requires the rebuilding of the Temple and presumably the sacrificial system. You might also want to comment on Christ's words to the Pharisees about the oral law and the Rabinical system. Didn't He condemn the Judaism that was based on this?

Now, I recall you suggesting a little ago that Nicodemus was not "saved" because even though he showed favour towards Jesus, being a Pharisee, he was not "born again". What view do you hold of other members of the Jewish religion? And we know how you view "religion" with all its rules and regulations.

Straight answers if you will.

Now you will get into big, big trouble saying the Wise Men came from Persia. You protesters are not permitted to add to scripture or accept such traditions. You'll bring down the wrath of len upon yourself! The Bible just references the "East" and is non-specific.

So far as modern day Iran is concerned, I wouldn't be too troubled by their ability to bomb Israel. Any missile would be grounded before it left their borders.

The real issue behind them acquiring nuclear capability is the proliferation that would inevitably result. If they have nuclear weapons, others will legitimately claim the same right. The Middle East is volatile. Imagine several States there all with nuclear arsenals. And then imagine these nations falling under "democratically" elected Islamist regimes. And all this bought and paid for with Western money in exchange for their oil.

Thank you for your Canada Day wishes, Miss Anna Anglican!

You’re the only one to notice my hints and fishing for recognition of our celebration. I’m certain too that this is the first time our anthem has appeared on His Grace’s blog. Having it dug-up and posted by a charming Gay Sephardi Jewish Anglican astrophysicist young woman makes it all the more special and somehow very Canadian.

It was a strange Canada Day. After a to-do at our constituency office, we went to a celebration with fireworks display and were surprised to see unprecedented numbers of people. Another surprise was the number of obvious newcomers at the celebration; they far outnumbered the Anglo-Canadians. Location may have something to do with the latter, but there is indeed a discernible upsurge of pride in Canada and surprisingly, even in unabashed monarchism, something that was sorely lacking for many decades here. I ascribe our past nationalistic doldrums to the decades of progressivist Liberal Party and “red Tory” or “pseudo-Conservative” rule (the party was once named officially "Progressive Conservative"!), the institutionalized soft socialism and the abject policies of appeasement of Quebec. The times here are a-changin’!

Congratulations as well to you and those in your related fields on the cautious CERN announcement of the detection of what appears to be the elusive Higgs boson particle. Some of us struggle to understand even the idiot's summary of the issue, but we get a sense that this is really big.

O no, Mr Ernst I can’t get into any of that! Apart from being subject to a very old and wise prohibition of engaging in theological disputations with members of other religions, you are far more learned than I in your religion than I’m in mine and would make mince-meat out of me. Obviously we have quite a different take on the Pharisees and the nature of a Messiah and the Temple’s restoration, which would mean that you and I can only proceed from different and contradicting sources and interpretations, which would render a technical discussion impossible, reducing it to repetition of faith-based claims.

Ditto for putting my head through the buzz-saw of the Protestant-Catholic dispute! I may have half-baked opinions on these matters, but my main take on all of this has been that while theological disagreements between various factions in any religion can be healthy, this one has a history of nastiness and perhaps needs to be voluntarily suppressed by both parties unril calmer times return. Ecumenism may appear tacky and weak, but in this case, it may be the most prudent approach. My only advice on this, as an outsider and someone who may not be very well informed, would be for Christians to compartmentalize and at least temporarily shelve such arguments and to pragmatically unite on the very real threat of murderous attacks which have been decimating and exiling ancient Christian communities which are currently stranded and seemingly abandoned by the various denominations and Churches.

Despite "being subject to a very old and wise prohibition of engaging in theological disputations with members of other religions", you have been frank about the Pharisaiical/ Rabinical nature of Orthodox Judaism, the nature of the Messiah your religion waits for and the Temple’s restoration.

My questions to len and Ernsty are about Christian understandings on the 'end times' and Christ's future Kingdom. Specifically, if this requires the rebuilding of the Temple and reinstituting the sacrificial system? I've also invited comment on Christ's words on the Rabinical system and His condemnation of Judaism based on this.

They see the "miraculous" rebirth of Israel in 1948 as a sign of Christ's return and say support for Israel is tantamount to support for God and His plan.

I'm curious how they square this with Christian views about the need to convert all people to Christ and how they understand the Bible as is relates to Judaism and Israel.

I doubt they will answer.

Ah, Dodo, we're on better grounds here, away from the Irish Question.

For me Israel's rebirth is indeed miraculous, as our traditional understanding of a miracle is of an unlikely or seemingly impossible event occuring at a crucial time and as an act of G-d. Up until 1948 we were supposed to be either a proof of G-d's wrath through our Exile, or as the secular hisorian Toynbee gleefully proclaimed, a disappearing, fossilized people without a nation or a future. Yet here we still are, merrily emailing Talmudic commentaries on Intel chips developed in Israel, a nation we cobbled together after the decimation of the European Jewry, by survivors from entirely different cultures and even religious expressions and speaking different languages, who faced a new environment and and an overwhelming number of enemies shook things up politically and, as you can see, theologically as well. Hstorians and religious people drew their own conclusions; some try to undermine the impact of the event by making Israel's emergence accidental, mundane or illegitimate, others see a miracle.

You'll have to ask the fellows about how they "square" their understanding of things, but I imagine they expect another miracle; the conversion of all Jews to the Christian faith. We share a similar hope, for many of us in turn believe that in the Messianic Era good Christians and people from other religions as well will either become Jews or even as non-Jews, will have a share in the World to Come. Life's short, if you think about it, and we'll all find out soon enough I guess.

A persistent, thoughtful, person(with an open mind and God`s assistance) studying the Bible could have seen God`s plan for the salvation for Humanity in the O/T.(Many did)

God`s end time plan is also revealed in the N/T.This will be found by those whose desire for the Truth and the Truth alone is the paramount thing.

You have ignored and ridiculed(with the help of your friend) anything I have said to you so far , if you cannot understand the simple facts of the Gospel how(on Earth )are you going to understand God`s end time plan?.
I believe you do not inquire wanting to know the answer only to gain material to feed your desire to 'score points' on other people to presumably puff up your own sense of self importance and to justify your own [wrong] theology.

For those who are genuinely interested in end time prophesy Derek Walker is a good place to start.

Well that was an interesting red.

See what I mean about the confusion sown by protestants - taken from your recommended website:

"When will this world-changing invasion (of countries led by Russia) "take place? Some identify this invasion with the Battle of Armageddon, others as the invasion of Revelation 20 (after the Millennium); others place it at Mid-Tribulation. However, I will show it must either take place very near the start of the Tribulation, or more likely, in the time just before the Tribulation, in the very time in which we live!"

This account of the 'end times' is Ezekiel's Prophecy and not Daniel's. It is one among many competing attempts to predict the future.

I see in this one Israel is to make a covenant with the antichrist at the start of the 7-year Tribulation. The regathering of Israel is in unbelief before the Tribulation, "so that through the Tribulation, God will deal with Israel, and by the end of the Tribulation she will come to faith in her Messiah and call upon Him for salvation. Then Christ personally, at His Coming, will complete her Regathering to the Land from all nations."

And I thouht you believed it was the Catholic Church who was to make a pact with the antichrist?

Following God's intervention, Islamic nations will experience a crisis of faith, and a turning to the true God (the God of the Bible, the God of Israel, Yahweh - not Allah, the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

So, in a nutshell, Russia will lead an invasion against Israel and God will miraculously intervene causing Jews and Muslims, both of whom follow false religions and are in league with Satan, to convert and accept Jesus Christ.

Well, at least there's no attack on the Catholic Church in this particular interpretation - or have I overlooked it? It must be in there somewhere, surely?

Dodo you were inquiring about the rebuilt Jewish Temple.

Will there be a rebuilt Jewish Temple in the end days?. Well it certainly seems so.Many of the utensils to be used in the Temple have already been made and priests are being trained to serve in the Temple.
God`s Word mentions four Jewish Temples in the City of Jerusalem..

The Temple of Solomon
The Temple of Zerubbabel and Herod.
The Tribulation Temple
The Millennial Temple.
see Daniel 9:27, Daniel 12:11,Matthew 24:15,2 Thessalonians 2:4,Revelation 11 1-2.

Your other question ...will Christ rule on Earth?.I certainly believe so. It was God’s original intent in creating Adam that he should rule the earth. Due to the fall, this responsibility was transferred to Christ who as the last Adam will accomplish that in which Adam failed.
The Millennium rule of Christ on Earth will be an absolute one characterized as a rule of a rod of iron with immediate judgment on any who oppose Him. (Ps 2:9; 72:9-11 ; Isa 11:4; Rev 19:15). A prominent feature of the government will be perfect justice in contrast to the inequities which often exist in political rules today. The meek and the poor will have equity in that day (Isa 11:3-5) and the wicked are warned of immediate judgment (Ps 2:10-12).

So why as a Christian are you supporting Judaism when it intends rebuilding a Third Temple and reinstating the system condemned by Christ? Because you understand a prophecy requires this before His return? And the prophecy demands the support of Israel? You may just have the wrong understanding there.

We'll leave aside your understanding of the the Millenium Rule of Christ.

And Jews? Are they "saved"? Do they need to be "born again"? Or is that best left for another day? Poor old Nicodemus deserves an answer.

Dodo, Paul explains the future position of the Jews in Romans. There are Jews who are today turning to Christ as they will in the future.
It is plain from scripture that God is not done with Israel. Paul writes on this issue in Romans 9-11. Rom 11:25-30 in particular speaks about Israel’s future salvation:
Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
27 “and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

(Being born again is not to be a 'special' sort of Christian but this is an 'entry level' basic requirement, in fact a command of Jesus)

6 July 2012 at 00:48
Blogger The Way of Dodo the Dude said...

St Paul also wrote:

... the Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and please not God, and are adversaries to all men;

Prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end."

(1 Thes Cp 2)

Was St Paul an antisemite?

(To fill up their sins" - that is, to fill up the measure of their sins, after which God's justice would punish them. For the wrath of God is come upon them to the end - that is, to continue on them to the end.)

Read what St Paul wrote - again. He was clearly opposed to Judaism and the actions of the leaders of the Jewish people.

Romans 9-11 and Rom 11:25-30 has to be read with 1 Thessalonians in mind.

I asked if you supported the building of a Third Temple. Is it something you pray for? You avoided answering with "Well it certainly seems so.". It may happen, who knows? But does God want the Temple and the sacrificial system restored? I think the New Testament is clear on this, don't you?

You give unquestioned support to the secular State of Israel and even attribute the loss of the British Empire to not supporting her!

You need a more balanced approach both to the politics of the Middle East and to the Christian Biblical concerning the future conversion of the Jewish people.

Dodo have you ever heard the expression "Thy Will be done".

YOU need to understand what God`s Will is for the Jewish people and their Homeland.

God`s Will is plainly revealed in His Word.

If you are not actively seeking and praying for God`s Will to be done then you are either passively doing nothing or alternatively(as you seem to be doing ) actively opposing God`s Will.
I am aware that ant-semitism is part of Catholic teaching(replacement theology)but history is littered with the remains of those who have opposed God and His plans for Israel.

"I am aware that ant-semitism is part of Catholic teaching(replacement theology)"

Oh dear!

Are the two the same thing?

What is supersessionism? It is the traditional Christian belief that the covenant between God and the People of Israel, established through the mediation of Moses at Mount Sinai, has been replaced or superseded by the 'New Covenant' of Jesus Christ.

This is anti-semitism, is it?

This signifies that the Mosaic covenant, with its ritual and dietary requirements, Sabbath observance, etc., is no longer valid for the Jewish people, since God’s revealed will is for Jews, as well as Gentiles, to enter into the New Covenant by baptism and faith in Jesus as the promised Messiah.

And your problem with this is?

The Catholic Church teaches that the Mosaic covenant was fulfilled and replaced by the New Covenant in Christ.

The Catholic Church does not teach that the Jewish people themselves are effectively irrelevant in terms of eschatology and Biblical prophecy. For the Catholic Church, the Jewish people are a reminder that the "gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” (Rom 11:29). The Church recognizes an ongoing and unique relationship between the Jewish people, God and the Church. Additionally, the Church teaches that there is an integral continuity between the covenants rather than a rupture.

In Lumen Gentium (1964), the Church stated that God "chose the race of Israel as a people" and "set up a covenant” with them, instructing them and making them holy." However, "all these things . . . were done by way of preparation and as a figure of that new and perfect covenant" instituted by and ratified in Christ. In Notes on the Correct Way to Present the Jews and Judaism (1985), the Church stated that the "Church and Judaism cannot then be seen as two parallel ways of salvation and the Church must witness to Christ as the Redeemer of all."

In Dominus Iesus (2000), the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith states, "There is only one salvific economy" and "God has willed that the Church founded by him be the instrument for the salvation of all humanity. . . . The certainty of the universal salvific will of God does not diminish, but rather increases the duty and urgency of the proclamation of salvation and of conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ"

Are you saying the Mosaic Covenant is still valid for the Jewish people? That they have no need of conversion?

Now what does this all mean?

"Dodo have you ever heard the expression "Thy Will be done".

YOU need to understand what God`s Will is for the Jewish people and their Homeland."

As laid out in that 'interpretation' of Ezekiel you suggested or the 'interpretation' of Daniel you relied on in the past?

YOU need to accept God's Will cannot be gleened by thinking the Bible is some form of fortune telling device that can and should be used to determine a stance on the particular problems in the Middle East today.

Knowing it was God's Will that His Son be crucified so that sins may be forgiven, doesn't mean that Pilate and the Sanhedrin were right in giving effect to this! And nor was Peter right in attempting to prevent it, as Jesus had openly revealed His mission to him.

I don't know God's plan for Israel and the Jewish people. I do know whatever it is it will come to pass. And neither do you know. Biblical speculation is dangerous and basing one's politics on passages from the prophets and Revelations even more so.

Unless you claim infallibility. Do you?

I do own a Bible - several. I also read the Bible and am aware of its content.

The funny thing with prophesy is that so many people either get it wrong, partially comprehend it or attempt to misuse it.

Just think how wrong the Jews were over the coming of their Messiah! And how Herod attempted to twist prophesy to his own ends. The Wise Men too appear to have 'read the stars'.

A wise Brother once said to me that the Catholic Church does not dwell publically on interpreting the 'end times', because Jesus told us not to speculate about this and because of the potential harm it might do.

People might inappropriately follow what they understand to be 'prophetically' called for when it isn't. "Think of the harm Satan could do with such information and the uses to which he'd put it", he concluded.

I'm content with those parts of the Bible that teach me about God and the history of His great unfolding plan of salvation. I read the prophets and I read Revelation. And of course I follow the Catholic understanding of Scripture including the role of the Pope and the Magisterium. If I didn't believe this to be true with my heart and soul I would not be a Catholic.

I love the Bible. I love God. I love His Mystical Body.
