Margaret Thatcher funeral Order of Service

Blogger Manfarang said...

Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever:
for wisdom and might are his:
and he changeth the times and the seasons:
he removeth kings, and setteth up kings:
he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and knowledge to them that know understanding

Thank you. I have the Union Flag flying at half mast outside my house. It will be raised to full mast at sunset, then be lowered for the night.

May she rest in peace.

Your Grace

Lady Thatcher’s funeral is a tremendous opportunity for all of us to pray that God’s Word, spoken to the world, at the funeral service will touch the hearts and minds of our nation’s youth.

The service, it seems to me, has been crafted to speak to this nation: on the other side of death – there is life in abundance.

Agreed !

The address from Richard Chartres was splendid, very apt, addressing the very heart of the problems facing this nation. I liked especially his reference to the point that without a predisposition to tell truth and do good, as understood in traditional Christian terms, no number of new laws, and people hired to enforce those laws, will make our country a virtuous place. One cannot legislate towards justice and happiness. Without the "inner policeman" of Christian conscience all is lost. I wonder how many gathered there, especially those who are in favour of big state control, will grasp the significance of his well put, simple point.

How very beautiful, Your Grace -- thank you for publishing this.

I agree with Mr. Singh's response.

The only flaw in the appointments is that the traitor C had to be a part of it, especially after appearing on balconies in euroland with mrs. m. But who knows ... maybe he understood some of the words he had to read today

Margaret Thatcher's strong leadership set a standard of proper response for anyone destined by God to make a change for good in this world. Accept your call with humility and fulfill it with honesty. She took her place in history and never apologized for it.
That gave her endurance to finish the job.

atcher's accomplishments outlive both her critics and supporters, for she believed what she did was in the will of God.

THANK YOU so very much for posting the order of Service for Margaret Thatcher's funeral.

Not only is it grace-bestowing to read the hallowed words of Archbp. Cranmer's prose, but to see which hymns, anthems, and readings were said and sung in honor of a woman who was as Boadicea for her day.

We shall not see the like again.
Many years to you, sir.
