Yasmin Alibhai-Brown: media should be "controlled" to stop Farage

His Grace is loath even to comment on this, for fear of being branded "racist" by the morally superior and infinitely more enlightened Ms Alibhai-Brown.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to limit criticism of the human rights records of Arab and Muslim states.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to ensure no reporting of the mortars and Qasaam rockets that rain down daily into Israel’s Negev region.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to ensure that there can be no justification of Zionism or of Israel's military operations to ensure the state's survival.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to ensure that the horrors suffered by Jewish families like the Fogels never reach the airwaves.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to ensure that Islam is treated with great respect while Christianity is routinely misrepresented and denigrated.

Perhaps the media should also be "kind of controlled" to ensure that Allah, Mohammed and the Qur'an are revered while God, Jesus and the Bible are blasphemed and slandered.

This is fun.

Perhaps the media should simply be "kind of controlled" to ensure that no opinion is ever broadcast that offends the views of self-declared "leftie liberal, anti-racist, feminist, Muslim, part-Pakistani, and... very responsible person" Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.

So, yes, let the media be "kind of controlled in terms of how often Nigel Farage gets to rule the airwaves". Unless, of course, those same airwaves happen to give Yasmin Alibhai-Brown a very generous opportunity to promote her puffed-up self, her magniloquent opinions and obnoxious beliefs.

Is this the real April Fools post?

And Jack never knew the word "malniloquent" before and thinks it a most excellent description of this woman.

Calm down, Corrigan. Don't get excited. It's sarcasm.

But hey... whatever make Jack happy!

Yasmin seems to be totally confused.

Shouldn't she and her ilk be "kind of controlled"?

If she got sent back to Uganda then she wouldn't have to worry about the middle-class white man anymore and the middle-class white man (i.e. Brit) would be quite happy too.

The irony is, there is nothing that would suit Nigel F better than having the media overtly controlled to stop him appearing.

Each generation must defend freedom of speech. Indeed the habit of doing so, is so deeply ingrained in many people in this country, that dictators will not get any easy time here.

The bullying Manchester police tried to silence yet another street preacher, but ended up awarding £13,000 damages in compensation. Will they never learn ?

I think that the said Yasmin has done Nigel Farage a favour.

Fellow travellers – if ever you feel like giving up, if ever you feel that the pervasive and relentless forces of political correctness must, inevitably, win, think instead of the smug, pudgy face of professional moaner Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, who has carved a career out of nonsense like this.

Think of her complacent and self-entitled mien and:

Then imitate the action of the tiger
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o'erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O'erhang and jutty his confounded base
Swill'd with the wild and wasteful ocean
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English

Her niece, Farah Damji, sound like a laugh though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farah_Damji

Quite, YG.

Isn't their control of the Beeb, and via the "Culture" barrenship, enough for her?

And, doubtless she approves of the way certain authorities have waived all the air regarding that missing aeroplane.

Strange how these self-appointed guardians of freedom are now so puffed up that they think they can dictate to everybody what is acceptable. This is the dead-end of Liberalism

The BBC is already self-censored, so we know we are getting unbalanced political reporting from it anyway. Despite this, UKIP has grown in popularity, which shows that politicis isn't entirely dependant on the media, or at least the mainstream media.

So Ms Alibhai-Brown, feel free to carry on spouting your tripe. We are not worried about it, and I suspect Mr Farage isn't the slightest bit concerned either.

One is no fan of little brown women, or to be honest, any member of the Islamic races who are ‘settled’ over here in the UK. Too much trouble from these non white immigrants, you see. Not worth the effort of even trying to reason with their point of view. Totally alien to one’s own values, thoughts and principles.

But well, she certainly puts it down as it is regarding the multitude of short comings from her people’s men. One suspects her feminism has driven her to that. (Best stay well clear of a woman and her feminist leanings, for the quiet life, what !)

So, good show, Yasmin !

As for trying to rig UK’s media output, just as Pakistani people are well used to rigging elections, shame on you woman !!

Nasty old sub continent practices die hard though, and oh dear, looks like we’re back to the first paragraph. Such is predictability…

By the way, one initially read of her as a ‘Part time Pakistani’. Now, there’s an idea. Maybe some hope for the future ?

Alright, ‘no’ then.

non mouse @ 15.48 says, 'waived all the air regarding that missing aeroplane'. Yes indeed, we can't have undisciplined speculation about a Malay Muslim flight-deck crew that took a cabin-load of Chinese to their deaths, can we?

On the other hand, the great travelling public may draw its own conclusions about the risks of flying with Islamic airlines. Unless of course you are one of the faithful jetting in to the Haj.

Interesting thought, that blue dog. It’s not that long ago the Chinese authorities cracked down on their own muslim insurgents. But as for ditching at high speed a plane load of unconscious Sino kaffir as revenge, the blighters would have been crowing about it by now.

Nigel must be feeling somewhat irked. He has gone out of his way to avoid talking about Islam, he promotes a harmless immigration policy (harmless to everyone except the indigenous British, that is) and yet Yasmin still wants to shut him up. Chill out, dear. The media are already controlled to stop the only party that would send you packing, the BNP, so you’ll get your majority: ‘There is a white panic every time one part of their world seems to be passing over to anyone else. But it’s foolish to panic about it. So what if we do become a majority? What difference does it make?’

Spot On Your Grace. I've been in a bate about that silly woman all day.

Fair play to Channel 4 though. I'm sure there must have been a temptation to do some sort of hatchet job, but the people who came over worst were the frightful Yasmin, and Kinnock.

More generally, though, I think the documentary did a good job of showing the difficulty UKIP faces as it seems to represent the "Shire Tories", the "Joseph/Thatcherite Right" and the low skilled working class who lose most from unskilled immigration. While the Conservatives managed to keep the former two on board for a while, it is not obvious that all three can be welded into a stable coalition.

The media is already largely controlled by liberal secularists. Particularly, try questioning Darwinism. Is it not fascinating that while some 40% of people polled doubt the evolutionary origins hypothesis that the phenomena of creation science and intelligent design face an effective total blackout in the mainstream media?

Malaysian Airlines is a good airline, with friendly service. It was quite easy flying through KL as the Malaysians assume that their fellow confreres would not cause any trouble on a territory of Dar-al-Islam. None of the paranoid checks that I had go through in other places. Incidentally the Chinese were pretty lax too at one time, I don't know how it is now, but I was usually one of the last to board the waiting plane and the customs usually wave you along.
All that is going to change now.

Why on earth did we import these people if they are such bad citizens?
