Two great illustrations of unrestrained Islam ... drab and colourless + death and destruction.

Together the 3 pictures illustrate John 10v10 perfectly.

Exactly my thoughts.

We have clear choices to make Christianity or Islam there is no 'middle way' in what amounts to a war.
For atheists to wander around in the middle of a battlefield is the height of folly.

Len, Nath,

True enough, but it will not be 'Christian' war, but rather a war of the beleaguered West against a bellicose and soon to be internationally unified Islam. In other words, countries that are secular (Christian by tradition rather than theocracies) will eventually be called to arms.

This is not going to happen yet and it will not happen because girls (or boys) in remote countries are slaughtered in their droves. We have had our fill of costly and unwinnable foreign wars and military interventions in countries where our efforts are entirely useless. As of yet, we have no effective reaction to what is happening (as can be seen from the utterly pointless #send-our-girls-home celebrity-fest).

No, only when the emboldened jihadist has enough momentum in the world to interrupt trade routes (as happened after Constantinople fell – leading to the discovery of the Americas) and we have suffered a few more Lee Rigby, bus and tube murders will action be taken.

Not too late, but the situation we are in is a sorry and damning judgement on the utter incompetence and bollixing inadequacy of the past fifty years of government in this country, Europe and the USA. It cheers me not at all to think that my sons will have to clear out the Aegean Stable of their uselessness. Not at all.

But the "new" west thinks that all will soon be nice, liberal secularists, atheists and humanists, the world over !

The Islamists have rightly concluded that the West is weak and is spiralling down into degeneracy. So has Putin, and doubtless many others.

David,

We certainly seem to be in a time loop of sorts.

I watched the excellent 'Generation war: our mothers, our fathers' recently broadcast on BBC 2. The young Germans – idealistic, hopeful, good, Christian (mostly) – at the beginning of the series could almost be a metaphor for any attempt optimistically to improve the world through intervention. They suffered for it, put it like that, and none more so than the sensitive young man whose intellectual outlook utterly collapsed on first contact with the enemy.

As for the new West – well, the liberal secularists and atheists are still an extreme minority in the world (if not in Westminster and Islington). Numerically, atheists and humanism are withering on the vine compared to the worldwide spread of religion (whether this good or bad I will leave to others).

Perhaps the threat of Islam will lead to a Christian resurgence in Europe, but my suspicion is that it will, ultimately, be a simple case of Islam versus the rest, with the rest winning after some very bloody fighting.

"The high point of African civilization was reached when under colonial rule."

This decline into barbariam isn't just happening in Nigeria.

There's a low level 'street-jihad' being waged here in Britain where kuffar girls are abducted, enslaved and raped by Islamic pedophile gangs as in Oxford; and kuffar boys are attacked, mutilated and murdered by gangs of Muslim men as with Kriss Donald in Glasgow and Henry Webster in Swindon. All these attacks are in accordance with the Koran, and can only get worse worldwide as jihadists' numbers increase in kuffar countries.

Indeed. This is the logic of the two-dimensional, liberal secularists, who divide the world into the religious and the non-religious and are incapable or unwilling to differentiate.

Bread and fish

When we are met with insurmountable problems we always want others to do something.

Jesus could have fed the 5000. His disciples wanted to give up. Too big a job they told Jesus, so back to you Jesus, sort it out for us.

So Jesus told them that they are the solution and that was that they must commit whatever limited resources they had to the problem and Jesus would do the rest.

Despair was not and is not an option for us.

Action is. What is the action? Whatever little we can do. We must be bread a fish.

As the late great Neville Chamberlain so ably demonstrated, there is absolutely no limit to the extent to which people will swallow enemy propaganda in the hope of buying a temporary peace.

And if it wasn't for troublemakers like Churchill going around stirring up Naziphobia, the Second World War would probably never have happened.

The blighters have always been at it, it seems. It’s in the blood. The pictured victims are children of a lesser race in the eyes of Boko Haram, whom one is suspicious of being descendants of the Oyo. The Oyo seem to be particularly unpleasant brutes – accomplished slavers amongst other. Worth reading of their warring exploits in Wiki.

Until after the imminent elections, Brian. One suspects our world statesman has been warned off by Central Office’s vote grubbing committee not to jeopardise the home Muslim vote until that’s out the way. Or is it 2015 being out the way ? One or the other or both. Do you see the problem in him committing himself, old chap, or not ever committing himself, that is.

Thank you, Inspector, you have made the picture quite clear. And yet only the other day, it seems, Dave stood up in the House of Commons and gave us his solemn word that the Kenyan shopping mall terrorists were “not true Muslims”. I wonder where he gets his information from. And it must be getting difficult for him to keep track of them all, when there are so many Muslims who fail to reach the pass mark on the Cameron Scale of True Muslimhood (CSTM™).

Good Lord Brian. Are you suggesting that Cameron is mimicking Hermann Goering when on being approached by a quarter of the German High Command who were ‘troubled’ by Jewish ancestry prior to the 39 45 war, reassured the lot of them by saying, “I get to decide who is and who isn’t a Jew”

Happy Jack generally favours a realist theory on international relationships.

However, here the UN Security Council should declare open and active warfare against international terrorism - and do something. It should permit member states to intervene with force where Islamists or other violent extremists have established a power base and are killing people when those states are incapable of responding. A short and sharp use of military power to pursue and deal with the aggressors by all necessary and legal means.

Jack says to the UN stop banging on about and imposing the 'human rights' of contraception, abortion, homosexuality and such things and get to grips with these evil Islamists.

If nothing else this should show the dangers of Muslim immigration into other lands. Those who prefer to look the other, are sowing the dragon's teeth for another generation to handle.

Boko Haram is Islam at its starkest, shorn of any melioration by received traditions, normal human sympathies, or the restraints of the fear of retaliation. It is what a "Reformation" of Islam, that stupid meme current among numerous idiots, would look like given sufficient time.

Radical Islam acts as a predator in Countries where governments are weak and takes over and establishes a reign of terror.
There is a warning for everyone with these events that are happening in Nigeria and worldwide.
Destabilization then domination seems to be the way radical Islam is advancing. Egypt very nearly fell under the power of the 'brotherhood' an Islamic fundamentalist organization which has spawned others of its own kind.
Syria is under attack after being destabilized and the West very nearly jumped in to assist 'the rebels'.
We should learn the lessons of Iran where Khomeini took over and now threatens Israel with nuclear weapons.
The west needs to wise up and realize that the 'religion of peace' is anything but that!. The voices of condemnation from moderate Muslims for acts of violence from their brothers in faith is quite telling as indeed these moderate Muslims are in as much danger from these Islamic fundamentalists as anyone else.

The Policy of political Correctness and liberal attitudes are the very weapons that terrorists and criminals use against us in the West .What fools they takes us for.

You've carefully jumped from "political group" to "Islam" there. Now, I agree that Islam has a built-in political aspect to it but are you comfortable suppressing the freedom of speech and religious belief of our Muslims citizens who are not preaching violence? Of course you are, you have far-right beliefs yourself.

Someone has to defend freedom of speech and religious belief around here. A general freedom, that is, rather than one which specifically privileges Christians. There's one or two of the regulars here who, out of political convenience, try to spin a line about liberals being authoritarian. Obviously I just laugh quietly at them. The proof of pudding is in the eating, you see.

"Someone has to defend freedom of speech and religious belief around here."

You appear to be fighting phantoms here. Who here is denying freedom of speech? On the contrary, many here would like the freedom for preachers to preach and the corresponding freedom to point out that these preachers of Jihad, of death sentences for gays, appostates and adulterers and of the spreading of the Ummah by force around the world are actually presenting an authentic face of Islam. A freedom that is often denied by the religious illiterates and pedlars of religious equality because it seriously contravenes their secular, liberal world view.

And what does it mean to "defend religious belief"? It seems a nonsense on the face of it. You cannot defend my belief in ultimate justice anymore than you can defend my thought that 2 + 2 = 4. Perhaps you mean to defend my right to practice religious beliefs? In which case does that apply to all religious practices? I doubt it very much. In which case that would mean that you are also selective about which "religious beliefs" should be permitted - along with everyone else here.
